Hey I'm kind of a hopeless romantic and I was just wondering if in the era of myspace and text messaging is the romantic gesture long gone? Guys and girls how would you feel about a candle light dinner, a love poem/letter, fresh cut roses? Is that stuff now creepy?
Honestly, it just all depends on how comfortable you are with the girl and vice versa and who she is. I know many girls who would absolutely love to have a boyfriend appreciate them like that but on the other hand I also know girls who really don't like that stuff at all. I mean, my ex-boyfriend sent me a letter and it was pretty much the cutest thing ever and he sent me roses too and pretty much every girl was like "omg I wish I had a boyfriend like that". Now he never did the candle light dinner but it would have been a cute gesture just because I really liked him and I knew he would have done it because he liked me just as much.
But yeah, text messaging and myspace do really take the romance out of things. They're both really impersonal.
Candles? Yes. Roses? Hell yes. Letter? Of course! Poem? Like the other gals have said, maybe a bit over the top. But romance is NOT dead. I'd much rather my guy give me roses than just send me this: --------{@ or something. The real thing is MUCH more romantic, and much more appreciated. :)
I think a poem / letter would be a little on the creepy side...
but to me the most romantic thing a guy can do is go out of his way to watch out for a girl. like, make sure she's doing okay and just talking to her. :) don't overdo it though. like, don't constantly ask how her day was. maybe a couple of times a week if you guys aren't already together.
I would love it and it sounds nice and romantic - please people these days rush so fast to everything that they forget the whole deal of romanticizing each other! So no sweetie it's the best date a guy can come up with!
A candlelight dinner and fresh cut roses still sound fantastic to me. Although I think I might like just a single rose better than a bouquet. The poem/letter might be taking it a bit far though.
Am I insane? people I love have died in the last 2 years the most recent was 4 months ago but I talk to them they obviously do not talk back but I sit...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
An ideal 1st date to me would be a movie. If I like the guy I'm with I'll pick a scary movie so I have an excuse to move in closer. I would wear a hoodie and jeans because I don't wanna come on too strong, I like serious relationships. First I like to put out my true personality to see if they like me for me and not what I would do with them. It would end with a kiss on the cheek if I like him
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
He will know that I'm no easy but if he spent time with me and got to know me I'm a real wild one, I'm pretty much up for anything if he's willing to commit. I'm not a doormat....
