There's this girl I quite like at school and I quite think she likes me. We make eye contact whenever we happen to see each other and she has smiled at me now and again as well whenever I've seen her, HOWEVER, there is bit of a problem.
As she is in the year below me, she also has a brother in my year who is quite popular in my grade and also someone I'm really friendly with although not on a level that we socialize often outside of school, but I wouldn't want this to be an awkward barrier between us which I think it might be, just wondering if you guys could help give me an idea of what is the best way to handle something like this. I will say I do not think for one minute he is a protective type of person and is extremely laid back. I also don't really know her either in case you may think the smiling might be friendly because I've never spoken to her or anything.
You should start talking to her. Figure out if you actually like her or not. I wouldn't worry about the age thing, or her brother apparently. Just see weather she's worth your time or not. Then go from there. If she comfortably holds eye contact with you for about 5 seconds or more then she most likely likes you.
