I was driving with my best friend in her car and there was this really hot guy in the car next to me, I put the window down and told him I had to have him. (lol) we exchanged phone numbers and he called me 2 hours later we spent a lot of time on the phone, after talking for 4 days days he told me he wanted to pass by my house and to give me something, which was BEAUTIFUL flowers! About 2 days after that he asked me out on a date we went to this really nice restaurant EXPENSIVE 2, but he looked like he was in a rush to finish the date. He told me to call him when I got home to make sure I got home ok, & I did. The next day I text him saying hi and nothing. I didn't hear from him in 3 days. And all of a sudden he texts me saying that he was out of town and blah, blah, blah. Now he texts me every now and then, asking me why is it that I don't text him nor call anymore, when its him THAT STOPPED CALLING ME.
Aaaaooooowww! Now that's HOT! I have to praise you for your reckless yet bold and daring initiation. If all the girls in this world had just HALF of your initiative, it'll be rare to find any single guys lol The only reason why I say it was reckless is because you don't know this guy very well. He may look hot, but who knows how he's like psychologically. But let me make this clear: guys who give you their numbers like that DON'T have to be bad. Studies have shown that virtually all men(bad and good too) will take the opportunity to know a woman(the ones he find attractive of course) regardless of her approach.
Anyhow, does it mean anything? It may. My first impression when reading this was that either the guy really had to go out of town, or he was trying to play it smooth. If the second assumption, the one I'm leaning towards, is true, then just play mirror with him. Just do what he does and see what happens. You will catch him or find the real reason for his erratic calling behavior sooner or later.
Maybe he was out of town like he said, nothing he's done has seemed impossible for a perfectly normal person to do. Ever forgotten your phone while out of town? I have. You had contact with the guy for a little while. He doesn't contact you, but then he apologizes and wants you to talk to him. I just think he deserves a second chance.
It can mean that meeting a guy at a stoplight may not be the best way to evaluate compatibility. And also that the type of guy who will give you his number at a stoplight may not be the most reliable guy.
Well, I'm not a guy, but honestly I feel like telling you not to waste your time on him. It seems as tho he is one to want it only on his own time. I could be wrong, but with past experiences this is what I found to be true.

What pickup lines do you use to start a conversation with someone you are attracted to?
I don't start a conversation totally for the sake of having one. That comes into play, but there's got to be something interesting to say, something valid to comment on, otherwise it's just ridiculous. The point being, if you ask about something you're really interested in, even if you don't make an associate, you may still find out something interesting, so it is time well spent.
How do they typically respond?
They respond pretty well, because I don't use pickup lines, I just ask about what's around me, around them, what sets them apart and what seems prominent about them, or about the environment we are in together.
