I have a guy friend and we are really close we hang out 4 to 5 times a week and talk almost everyday about anything mostly about a month ago or so we did get some sexual stuff going on but he was starting to date this girl kinda at the same time so we have backed off from doing that because we figured it would be best to have morals and have him all focus on the relationship or whatever anyway we were hanging out watching a movie on the couch and he was in the recliner part leaned back and I was laying on the other parts with my feet on him and what not and his girlfriend called and the phone was loud so I heard the convo and she asked "what he was up to" and he said "nothing just watching a movie and drink beer" and she was like "oh are you hanging out with friends" and he goes "no just insert my name", and she was like "what? That's a friend" and he was 'like oh yeah hahaha" and I just kinda looked at him confused and teased him and was like "oh I see how it is I'm not a friend" and he was like "what ahhh I'm sorry" to and we both giggled and he went back to the girlfriend and was "yeah I don't know why I did that I just suck with pppl I guess" and then the girlfriend said something I didn't hear and he was like "yup well alright ttyl" and they hung up and then he was like "sorry about that don't know I was like she was like hanging out with friends and I was like no just you haha sorry" and I was like "naw its cool not a big deal" and he was "like yeah weird that I did that" and we just dropped it
Now it didn't really hurt my feelings but it did confuse me I mean we have introduced people to each as friends and stuff I didn't have a doubt he thought of me as a friend, but then I was like if you didn't hesitant to say no to friend and then just me. I just I mean does that mean he doesn't seem as a friend. Less then a friend. More then friend. Wtf? Any help
Say it with me, Guys don't think when they talk, we just blurt out stuff and then get into trouble for it. You two are still JUST friends. Leave it be.
Some girls get REALLY jealous if a guy hangs out with other girls. He might be trying to avoid a potential problem between you two, especially if she ever found out you had sex.
It's possible he interpreted her question to mean "are you hanging out with the guys? ". or "are you hanging out with multiple friends? " and he simply responded "no, not multiple friends, just you". Meaning "just one friend".
I wouldn't read anything else into it. If he thinks of you as a girlfriend, then he wouldn't be entertaining the relationship with this other person.
