We're both single and young and he is really great with children. He is also a total flirt with me. I wrote a note because hitting on him with a bunch of kids around seemed inappropriate. He teaches an out of school class (not her school teacher). It seemed like the perfect idea at the time and now I'm wondering if it was kind of High School study hall-ish. eek! Help!
I don't think that's a problem at all. Often the first moves in a dating situation are awkward and uncomfortable, but they are always "right" if they work.
And maybe it's a natural impulse toward teachers. I worked as a teacher for a while and had neighbors hitting on me, including someone who placed a note under my windshield wipers. Also, I think some of the kids keyed my car, but that wasn't really a friendly note.
Don't sweat it - even if it seemed a little high school-ish, it's nothing more than a bold move. Those usually yield good results. If I was the teacher in question, it would be fine with me.

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
We meet for coffee/tea at a cafe or small place and chit chat for a bit about light topics. I would wear "dress casual" clothing. After that, we let each other know whether we want to do something again sometime in the future. We exchange phone numbers/emails to stay in contact. We give one another a polite handshake or a pat on the shoulder or something casual.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
That I'm very charming, funny as heck and sexier than anyone they've ever met before!
