I like this guy at my job, and I'm pretty sure he likes me too. I've known him for about six months and in that time, we have gotten pretty close. When we are at work, we pretty much end up talking to each other for about 90% of the time. I constantly catch him looking at me during the day, and he'll look DIRECTLY into my eyes when I'm talking to him. He even remembers things that I've told him that other guys probably would have forgotten. Recently, as we've gotten closer, we've started play fighting with each other. (not physically lol). We'll just throw smart comments back and forth to each other in a playful way(Some of them even a bit flirty). Today at work, we did nothing but rip on each other ALL day. Lol He even made a comment about the fact that we had been ripping on each other so much lately. Even though I think that we both find it funny, I kind of miss just flirting with him instead of joking around. Should I be worried? I mean do guys argue with girls that they like? Or is this a sign that he's stopped liking me and that I should joke less and flirt more?

After a while, even playful stabs at someone becomes more than they can handle. I've had to tell some people in my past that I needed a break from it. He might need a break for a while. It's possible he thinks you aren't interested any more, that he's landed in the dreaded "friend zone". Drop some hints that you are interested again. If he is familiar enough with you, as it appears he is, he should receive the message (if you are interested in a date that is).

Try going a whole day without verbally jousting with him. If he lays a comment out there, smile or laugh and let him know you understood context of what he said, but just let it slide. Carry on some normal conversations, and otherwise go about the day as normal. Finding a happy medium between flirting and joking around would work out the best.

Good luck.

I am experiencing the same situation at work. Only, this girl and I were classmates in high school. She and I are very close friends and we have so much in common that we actually say things that the other person is thinking. We have fun together. She and I playfully argue all the time, and weirdly enough, it makes me feel closer to her. The only problem is that I am her boss. Although we flirt, I think it's fun and it's alright to keep it at that. I do like her a lot, but I don't think it would be wise for either of us to make any moves. We're just enjoying each other's company. Just enjoy it. If the time comes, you'll know and he'll know as well. Just enjoy his company and friendship!

Superstrength79 I was reading an article online about "work marriages". You have someone at work you get along with great, you can vent your problems to them and essentially everything except sexual or romantic interaction. Sometimes real spouses don't care to hear about, or can't understand what you are going through at work. Having someone at work you can confide in, and enjoy being around helps a ton. I have a "work wife". We joke around, but nothing will ever happen with us. - 3 months ago
