I've been talking to this guy for a while now, and I really like him and I think that he really likes me too. We've talked on the phone every day for the past 3 months. He's a senior in high school, I'm a sophomore in college, so I am 2 yrs older than him. (he's mature for his age). At first I was thrown off by the age thing, but now it isn't a big deal. I go to school 1 1/2 hrs away, and hardly get to come home. Now, he told me that he is talking to his ex again, but doesn't know if they will actually be together again. but I think it is just because it is convenient for him, because he still calls me everyday. I really like this guy but I'm just wondering if I am wasting my time & should let it go....or if I should stay consistent and put a little fight in for him?
First of all, I think this situation is a bit strange. I understand the guy might be mature, but if I had to guess you are bit homesick and are using the guy as a reason to hang on to the past. I would use this situation as an excuse to get out of this pattern and experience college for all it has to offer (both fun and focusing on what you are trying to do). My 2 cents, let me know if I'm way off on this one.
I've had trouble w/ relationships b/c I pick the wrong type of guys. This one seems like he really likes me & means what he says,That's why I'm attracted to him, not b/c of the homesick thing. I've dated guys from my college, but none as sincere as him. - 7 months ago

I'm a freshman and my best friend recently started dating a junior. It doesn't bother me except that it has sort of changed her! She used to be so...

What pickup lines do you use to start a conversation with someone you are attracted to?
I'm not overly shy so if I see someone I like I will just start talking to them.. depends on the setting I guess. I don't do any true "pickup lines", but I do often say something like 'hey, you look nice - are you here with your friends tonight." or "Hey, having a good time" If they are interested this seems to work most of the time.
How do they typically respond?
Most girls either just walk away or make small talk and leave.. but some appreciate the straightforward approach and will keep talking to me. Any suggestions?
