If there were three genders instead of two. I wonder if humanity would die out since just the two already don't get along.
Update: Say the human species takes three parts of DNA to produce a child, male part, female part, and we'll say agmale part. These three people of different genders must work together to conceive and raise children.

Update: We'll say the Agmale carries only the Z chromosome, females still carry only the X chromosome, males now carry both X, y and Z. To determine the gender; XZX = Female XZy = Male XZZ = Agmale

Update: Conception: The Agmale of the species carries the child to term. The child is carried in its uterin like chamber, which is filled with many pocket like cells containing the Agmales sexual DNA.

Update: Once the Males Sperm fertilizes the Females egg, the egg finds its way into one of these pocket like cells and binds to that cells DNA. At this point the three separate cells have combined to form an individual human being.

Update: Intercourse: hmm, I'd imagine it would be like some sort of sexual sandwich. Lol

Update: Can you imagine how hard it would be to find two compatible mates, not just one? Hahaha

Haha, there was a star trek episode on that theme. Thought I'd throw that out there.
That would make the dating process a little more laid back, in my opinion. You could go out for dates in twos for a third person, and it'd feel a little freer.
Regarding life as we know it, I don't think that any species has required more than one partner to reproduce. I think that if a third gender existed, it would be able to sexually reproduce with either a man or a woman, or both, but would never require all three. It might even be asexual, which wouldn't require a partner at all.
But I understand your point: be glad that you only have to seduce one person and not two from different genders!
It would be utmost impossible for the whole thing to work. The first pair would have to agree on the third. It's hard enough as it is to find the one person to be with who likes you. Now you'd have to find two people who not only like you but like each other. In theory your idea works, but with how you've done the xzx, xyz, and xzz, you have a possibility of getting more than just 3 options. You would be able to get xxx, xxy, xxz, zzz, xxy, and probably other combinations. Now the xxx combination could be fun. But the zzz would be a bored. But anyway, you couldn't add the third chromosome and only get 3 genders. That's why with the current system of xx and xy, there are only the 2 combinations.
No, because females only carry the x chromosome [like in real life], and agmales only carry the z chromosome. There are only three possibilities. - 5 months ago

It would only work once. If the offspring were the combinations you've listed above, females would then produce x & z & agmales would produce z & x. So you could get z from both female & agmale & y from male producing zzy, which is not anything. - 5 months ago
Question Asker
I don't know why this concept is so hard for you to grasp, have you never taken biology? You only get X from females and only Z from agmales. I can link you to a site that will explain basic human reproduction if you wish. - 5 months ago
Answerer
I did take basic biology. The reason you only get x from females is because females only have the x. The reason you get x and y from males is that they have both an x and a y. Therefore if a person has xyz they would give x, y, and z. - 5 months ago
Question Asker
Not necessarily. There is no third gender and as such, you can't determine weather or not certain genders would be homo gametic or hetero gametic. True the person would have x and z chromosomes, but that does not mean their body would produce both. - 5 months ago
Answerer
That would have to be specified then. Hmmmm and now I have a negative rating. - 5 months ago
Question Asker
For this assume the sex cells in females through meiosis can only produce 16 x chromosomes and assume the sex cells in agmales through meiosis can only produce 15 x and 1 z chromosomes. Assume the number of chromosomes in 3 gendered humans totals at 48. - 5 months ago
Answerer
Then that would work. - 5 months ago
Question Asker
:) Sorry about the negative, I can admit in the beginning I misjudged your reasoning. I now understand and respect your points, and I had fun challenging myself to solve my own hypothetical question! Haha Guys give this guy some positive clicks to make. - 5 months ago
I don't know if you know about this, but there is a type of disorder called intersexuality, which you might find interesting.
(i copied and pasted the below two paragraphs, as it explains better than I would)
Intersex is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. For example, a person might be born appearing to be female on the outside, but having mostly male-typical anatomy on the inside. Or a person may be born with genitals that seem to be in-between the usual male and female types for example, a girl may be born with a noticeably large clitoris, or lacking a vaginal opening, or a boy may be born with a notably small penis, or with a scrotum that is divided so that it has formed more like labia. Or a person may be born with mosaic genetics, so that some of her cells have xx chromosomes and some of them have xy.
Though we speak of intersex as an inborn condition, intersex anatomy doesn't always show up at birth. Sometimes a person isn't found to have intersex anatomy until she or he reaches the age of puberty, or finds himself an infertile adult, or dies of old age and is autopsied. Some people live and die with intersex anatomy without anyone (including themselves) ever knowing.
If you watch the tv series "house". There was an episode of a "girl" who turned out to be a guy. She looked female on the outside (breasts etc), but on the inside she was male.
Listen I'm bisexual and I just need to find out something so heres my question. Are guys more attracted to bisexual girls or to normal girls? Why? Why...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
My ideal first date varies from a dinner or coffee if I don't really know the guy or something more fun like bowling or an amusement park if I do. I would prefer to be picked up. I would wear something that would fit the occasion obviously, but generally it would be skinny jeans or a mini skirt paired with a nice girly top. The date would end with plans for date two and perhaps a kiss!
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
Afterwards, my date would know how much fun I am! Hah, and basically anything he asked me really, as long as it isn't too personal. I wouldn't really want to get too deep on date one plus we need things to talk about down the road. He would know my general interests and values (music, grades, hobbies, etc.) along with my crazy sense of humor. I'd end up knowing about him though too =]
