The longest I've dated is 4 months, and I've never said "I Love You" yet. To me, that is one of those things that you say to maybe 2 people of the opposite sex (besides relatives and family) in your lifetime. If you say I Love You to a good majority of your boyfriends, then there is something wrong and you have a wrong interpretation of Love.
About 3 1/2 months I told my boyfriend I love him. I felt horrible afterwards because he has commitment issues and I didn't want to scare him away. I was overjoyed when he returned the gesture. I'd never told anyone (other than family & close friends) that I love them. I know that it means more than people think it does nowadays. Simply put, I mean it and so does he. We had talked maybe a year previous to dating and didn't see each other for the longest time. Then talked constantly for 6 months before dating. I fell for him the first tie I saw him & we talked. Still together and going strong:)
My ex actually said the 3 letter word after 3 months of dating, and we ended up going out for 6 years. Personally I would never want to be the one saying it first, I think its because I don't want to appear clingy or get rejected.
In terms of dating, the shortest time I spent talking with someone before hooking up would have to be a week.
Well love is very small word with a big meaning to some people but its took me a while to say it for the first time I went through maybe 20 guys but I wanted it to mean something not say it to him so he would be happy and its great if you talk a lot b4 you go out it means you know more about each other when you do instead of filling up the gaps while going out. It makes the road a lot more bumpy when you could have stayed on the smooth street
I believe I love you should only be said if you truly mean it and feel it. I love my boyfriend, but there are times, he would say, "i love you", but...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
I would most likely be in blue jeans with a nice shirt or T-Shirt depending on where we go. Early in the date I would enjoy a quit dinner where we actually could talk and find out if we thought it might work. If things clicked ok, I might suggest that we go for a round of drinks and dance or go have a few drinks and shoot pool. If the weather is right we most likely would have been on my Harley.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
One she would have been able to judge if I as the type of guy she'd want to see again. The same goes here. I think I would have opened up enough to let her know my goals.
