I am a female who have always liked guys. I have a female best friend who has liked woman for a while. I developed feelings for her, and asked her if she liked me, but she said that she didn't. I am confused when one day we watched a movie I laid my head on her lap and she put her arm around me. Also, I notice that she puts her arm around me when we sleep. Although her arm isn't around me the whole night, but still? We have been friends for many years, and she didn't always put her arms around me. She didn't put her arms around me after I told her. It was a couple of months later, when she started doing it. (And now she has a girlfriend. ) But she still told me that she doesn't like me like that. I asked her why she put her arm around me, and she said because it is or I am comfortable( can't remember). Also, my friend said that she could never look at me like that, or kiss me, but I asked her if she would kiss one of our other friends (who is straight) she said yeah. Oh, and I am an attractive person too. So, I know it has nothing to do with looks. Can someone please help me?

Well what I say is that you can develop feelings for her... these feelings doesn't have to be sexual feelings it may be that feeling that you're so close to each other that you can't think about losing her AS A BEST FRIEND... but you don't have to sleep with her to know what are these feelings !! - 2 months ago

have you told her that you have feelings for her? because if she's known that you've liked boys all your life she may just be afraid to tell you because she may feel even if she did have feelings for you that it wouldn't matter because you like boys. The arms around you may mean something and it may not. I know most people who are gay are usually more touchy, feely kind of people especially with close friends but it doesn't always mean anything. Then again if she just started doing this it may show development for feelings for you. I think many times best friends end up dating each other because they realize how perfect they are for each other, that is why they're best friends in the first place. The only way you can really find out is to talk to her about it. Tell her what you told us. Show a little bit of affection for her, it might make her not so scared to tell you or it may just make her feel closer with you.

I don't think all best friends have feelings for each other. My best friend is a guy, and there's no way I'd be able to date him. I mean, I know inside that we would probably be perfect for each other and we have considered it, but I guess it's more of a physical thing, which sounds bad, but I'm not physically attracted to him at all.
