Okay he is acting a little strange!

Cupid's got his target on 'lock down' ;) Short of "Will you marry me" I can't think of any other signs above what you've mentioned!

he may just be telling you that if you're not thinking about committing to him it would be a waste of his time to be with you when he could instead be spending his precious youth knowing someone else. that's just practical thinking. OR he is afraid of losing you and wants to seal the deal asap.

yes he's obviously telling you that he wants to marry you. think about it, most guys are scared of commitment already and they won't admit it but if he's wondering about marriage and talking to you about MARRIAGE, then obviously he wants to marry you. you know how guys do it when they don't want to talk about something or do something, they ignore the subject and they don't talk about it.

He's fishing for an answer without actually asking. Basically trying to figure out what your viewpoint is on things.

It seems to me that he very much has marriage on the mind and wants to gauge your reaction to the idea without actually asking you and possibly getting turned down.

I would start thinking about this if I were you so that when the moment comes, you will have an answer.
