i have this male friend and we've gotten pretty close in the past few months. we are both happily married and very secure in both of our marriages. all four of us are friends. one day me and my male friend were texting each other and at the end he signed ''love you''. his wife saw it and said she doesn't have a problem with the way he signs off except sign it ''love ya'' NOT ''love you''. is there any difference in the way you sign off? neither one of us want to cause any problems with our spouses but I would like some friendly advice.

I don't think there's a difference but it depends on the person. Love ya is more of a chill friendly tone and love you seems to have more of a meaning, ya know?

there's no difference. I have female friends and I would never mention that I love them in any shape or form. I love my woman only. love can be taken in many different ways, in this case it may have been an honest mistake, but he should know better. but I wouldn't worry unless he does it again, then you may want to say something. - j
