He's 18 and bowing down to his dad's every demand? If he really likes you he'll say I'm an adult so I can date who I want to. Sounds to me like an excuse.

No you shouldn't get mad at him. He was made to break up with you and he didn't do it because he wanted to.

U should still talk to him and help him through whatever is going wrong right now.
