Pride! Don't want to show you his vulnerable side. Want to show people that he's in control at all times.

Could also be because boys grew up being taught not to cry, be a man, tough guy and all that shit...which leaves emotions an unexplored territory for many. Being in control remains the priority.

It's hard for me to show my feelings too...but it's because I don't want to be considered a baby or a wuss. Most likely the same for guys too.
