Guys: what makes your girl best friend stand out?

For me personally, I have more often than not liked the girl I eventually became friends with, or liked her at some point during the friendship. I have never ended up dating a female friend though. As for choosing some girl over another, I think in my case, it just came down to the girl I got along with most and trusted the most, and often the girl that gave the best advice. Not all girls are suitable to confide in, that's for sure. Do you like one of your guy friends?

I got 3 good close female friends, and I chose them because we get along great. We can joke and nobody gets offended, I can talk about anything and they don't really take personally, and yea, 2 of them are very attractive, and if they didn't have a boyfriend or were married, I would have thought to hook up with them, but not have a relationship because they are not my type of girls I'm looking to get committed with. For example one of the girls is into fashion too much---and well, I don't like that. But as a close friend, she is the greatest.
