So I just found out that my boyfriend of about a year is talking to his ex-wife about OUR relationship. First of all, she applied for the divorce so why would he be asking her about relationship advice in the first place? Her fiance lives out of state so she really has no room to give advice on a relationship. I get they have kids together but why does that give him the right to talk about me to her behind my back? Why would he confide to her about our relationship? I feel so betrayed! What do I do?
That's just wrong on several levels, and you have every right in the world to feel betrayed. My advice would be to confront him about this as soon as possible - as you said, the relationship is between you both, not the two of you and his ex-wife.
He's either trying to make her jealous, trying to get her back, or trying to make you upset. It's possible he just has no one else to talk to about things, but really, that's so wrong on so many levels. Definitely talk to him about it and if he doesn't stop, then I would leave him.
Talk to him about it and let him know that the relationship is between you and him not her and him. If he won't stop being disrespectful about talking to her than I would say that it's time to kiss this guy goodbye. It's not fair at all to do what he's doing.
I wouldn't deal with it. Yeah they have kids together so they have to talk but that should be the extent of their relationship. He shouldn't be talking to her about anything personal, especially you. It would change or I would be gone. Besides that, even if she did file for divorce there will probably always be some feelings there. She may not care for him but she probably gets jealous hearing about you and she probably does things to sabotage your relationship. That's just how most women are, catty and bitchy. Anyway you look at it, it's not good for your relationship.
