I think that it is actually a good thing. I don't cry often, and I haven't done so because of physical pain or because someone died, not for many years (more than ten at least) at least, and that's to my detriment. Crying is a way to release the tension that builds up over time. Bottling things up and not dealing with them is what's really bad - dangerous even.

The last time I cried was this morning (a few hours ago) after hearing about some stats for child trafficking in the world. South Africa was a real shocker for me as it was mentioned that we have an estimated 40 thousand child prostitutes. I love my country, but that shock was far too much for me.

Was I embarrassed? No, because I'm sure I wasn't the only one in the room. Also, there's nothing I see to be embarrassed for crying for something like that.

It's not a good or bad thing. I don't cry very often, I guess I just don't feel the urge or need that much. I guess it all depends on the situation and what kind of crying too. If a dude falls off the room and breaks his collar bone and shatters his arm in three places, then welling up in the eyes, or hell even balling would be fine I suppose. If he cries at the end of a romance flick, then I'd be embarrassed. The last time I cried was when I found out that my girlfriend of a few years was cheating on me. I cried like a bitch for hours in front of one of my best friends, and yes, I am embarrassed about it. Not because I cried, but because I don't like to show weakness, and the fact that I let a girl get to me like that. I should have cried in the shower or something, at least that's what I did the last time I cried, but that was when I was 15 and I can't remember what it was about.

I don't mind a guy crying... it shows he is human and has feelings. Problem comes when they cry all the time... my ex did...

No its not been something upseting or bad happens a guy he should be able to cry without people thinking he's weak or a girl! What are they meant to do put a brave face on all the time we don't so why should they ok you don't want a cry baby but to show you have emotions and feelings is very intriguing! All my guy friends apart from 1 or 2 are not afraid to cry and show there emotions and I really respect them for that!

Notsure It's not the respect of the females we're worried about. - 10 months ago
Answerer I never said it was! Personally I think if a guy thinks its un-manly to cry and won't because of that! That he obviously isn't as much a man as he likes to try and think he is! - 10 months ago

Personally, I don't think it's a bad thing. Some people are uncomfortable with it, however, because men are supposed to be "strong". Society had unrealistic expectations; girls are supposed to cry when they are upset and guy are supposed to be strong, and deal with it in other ways. I think it's ridiculous and unfair, but I think that everyone should deal with their problems in the way that works best for them. Crying isn't it for me, but if a girl can do it, why can't a guy?
