Ok I am hanging out with this girl I like and I want to get her a gift. Were not dating so I figured a personal gift is saying to much but I want some feed back from the ladies. I was originally thinking a box of chocolates and a rose. You know something traditional. Then I remembered my mom is an Arts and Crafts person and she taught me a lot. She taught me how to fold money and make them look like Roses. I figured I'd fold a like 6 dollars and give her it, she might like it because she's an artist. Personal gifts might be a little much since she seems unsure about being in relationships but I figured if it was something funny as well It would be ok. I'd show off my sense of humor (I'm always making her laugh) and also I remember personal stuff. Still she's really resistant about relationships (obviously she was hurt in the past) so I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable.
don't be afraid to give her a personal gift. she won't be unsure or creeped out, because you two already hang out anyway. and girls enjoy inside jokes just as much as guys, if not better.
I know you said she doesn't want a boyfriend but that is exactly what I told my boyfriend when we started talking after class. On my birthday he gave me a rascal flatts cd (my favorite country group) and a card with a hand written poem inside. I was totally won over. I was so touched that he remembered I like them because it only came up once in casual conversation. Find out what music she really likes, a cd is something that is not real serious but will be listened to and ever time she will think of you and how sweet you are. With the card you could get a funny one or maybe you could sub in an inside joke instead of a poem. Make it personal! Make the card if you have that talent.
Although being able to fold money into a rose is cool, it's not really. Charming, you know? If a guy gave my cash I'd find that unattractive. Chocolates and roses are too intimate I think, especially roses. Hmm. Think about her interests. What does she like? Does she animals, like to read, or have any hobbies. You shouldn't have that hard of a time figuring out what to get her if you know her well enough.
Chocolate and roses aren't for people you're not dating. Go with someone funny. If after this gift she comes forward to tell you that she likes you and wants to be your valentine, then take the liberty to get her roses with the dollar bill ones because now it would be appropriate.
I agree with you but that's where it gets complicated. Were not dating but when we hang out she hangs with me for 10 hours. She gets close and touches my arms, legs, hair. But she says she doesn't want me 2 fall for her & she thinks she doesn't deserve love. - 6 months ago
It's a perfect idea to make her roses with dollars :p Since she is an artist she might like that but after you make them, put them between some roses, See if looks good or not. That would be so sweet with chocolates:) GOOD LUCK
I'm not a girl, but I would make her something home-made that would make her laugh if your not dating. You sound like you have a lot of creativity, so I say make her something because it could be a long time before somebody makes something for her again, as in -who knows the talents of the people she meets in the future. But if your not dating yet I wouldn't make something too romantic you know, if she is already careful she may see something romantic from a friend like as a little uncomfortable, I'm not really sure how that would go. But if you make something that will make her laugh, you'll definitely give her something different and unexpected, maybe even-more-so appreciated. There's more effort shown there than just picking something up off of the shelf and saying "Here you go! " Use your creativity and humor to the better of your advantage.
