Oh, and speaking as an anthropologist. In the cultures where the incest taboo is relaxed, usually it's because people are encouraged to marry their patrilineal cousins, who are not actually considered to be related to them because of matrilineal descent schemes. Complicated, yes, but regardless, no one in any culture is encouraged to marry their own parent or sibling. The one exception was the Egyptian pharaohs, but seriously, that was a few thousand years ago, so I wouldn't use them for my moral compass.
It's hard to know what people think about it, because the people that do it don't typically tell others.
It's not really for us to judge. Although, if I'm not mistaken, unless someone is your 3rd cousin or further down, it is even illegal. So, if you do that, you need to make sure that word doesn't get out, or you could be in trouble.
