What is the point of shaving pubic hair?

I personally like having my bush trimmed, bikini line and lips shaved smooth. Guys seem to really like this also as I can wear any sexy clothing and no hair showing and oral is hairless unless they are licking up to my belly! LOL I was surprised to see how guys do love running there hands through the hair on the mound and comment about how great it is.

Yes, it does make you look older.

I think the trend of shaving pubic hair, like a lot of odd sexual trends, came from porn. They needed to see the people's genitals more so shaving began.

It's all personal preference. There are people who love shaved and people who don't. I personally don't like it for the reason people said below, it sterilizes sex in a way. I prefer it to be a little "messier" (for lack of a classier word) so I don't like things that make it this super sterile experience. Keeping it as clean as possible isn't my thing so I have never much liked it.

I always thought it was more out of convince. I'm shaven and it's not to impress my boyfriend, although he does appreciate it. It's more comfortable to me, believe it or not. A hairy bush sticking out of your panties is annoying and makes you self conscious. It's a lot easier to clean. And a lot easier to deal with when that time of the month comes around. Why not trim? Perhaps I'm lazy, but shaving it all off is easier too. I mean, is it easier to shave your whole face or around bits and parts to keep up a goatee? :) And, like I said, my boyfriend appreciates it because it's very unsexy to have to pick the pubes out from between his teeth.

its all on your head! being bald down there looks way nicer and inviting than seeing a bush instead! I mean the fact that there is no hair should not be immediately associated with immaturity or childish ... I mean its just one part of the body, the face doesn't look like a baby girl or something ... anyways, that's just my opinion.

I kind of have mixed feelings on this myself but I can answer this from experience. When you're shaved (as a woman) you are much more sensitive! This is both a good and bad thing. The skin can get very irritated as it's very delicate. You can bet that if you're with a guy he will appreciate it more likely than not.

I always went for a 'trimmed' state in between the two. I never liked being completely bare, as it made me feel quite vulnerable and I always thought it looked sexier anyway.

i will blame porn. it basically showed people that's what should be done. I shave to make me look bigger. its more for me then anyone else.

There is no point; it is just fashion.

Being shaved is cleaner and makes oral sex less of a hassle. Many people do feel the same way though, in that it makes them look older.

in males... it makes the penis appear "larger" and makes oral sex less of a hassle... but with males trimming is usually good enough.

Personally I prefer women shaved. It looks cleaner and more appealing and I won't have any weird hairs all over the inside of my mouth. With men, trimming around the base actually looks better instead of completely removing all hair. Besides, hair is typically a sign of masculinity.

I think the best way to go is to trim your pubes for girls and guys. Not completely shave them.

It's a personal preference. If you like them hairy there is nothing wrong with that. Personally I like them clean shaven. I like to see there p**** and not have it hiding behind a think curly mount of hair. It’s also more hygienic, not to mention I hate picking their pubic hair from between my teeth.

I'm clean shaven myself as requested. Most people just find it more visually appealing.
