How many people does a person have to have sex with the be a slut?

it isn't about total numbers but about a multitude at a high frequency and the manner in which it typically occurs. if you will f*** almost anyone anywhere, then you are a slut. if you f*** many different people in a relatively short time space, then you are a slut. if you f*** other people when you have a significant other, then you are a slut. if you are really easy and nasty when it comes to sex, you are a slut. when you let people treat you like a slut, then you are a slut. I am sure there are more examples.

If you have learned to use the dictionary, please take a moment to look up the word slut. It means dirty. A child, after a morning's work making mud pies, is slutty. The misuse of the word as a sexual slur is only a recent modification too the language and is really not yet well defined. I will give you my observation or definition of how the word is most often applied. A slut is "a girl who's sexual views are slightly more liberal than those of the individual using the word slut". A second definition is "the girl having sex with the guy the user wants to be having sex with."

I think that you will have many answer for that question but it all depends on the girl, guys like to classified a girls as a slut cause they sleep with lot's of girls but then again what do we call a guy that sleep with a lot of girls.

I think that if you sleep with someone, it as to be because you have feeling, I'm not really into first date thin.

Although the answers so far have some good points, there is no golden rule.. like 2 people before the legal age is OK or not.. that kind of thing shouldn't be generalized.. Its all relative.. relative to culture, country, family background, parents' marital status,... the list goes on and on..

All those factors determine how you view 'sex'.. as casual.. or sacred.. I don't think there is a certain number of people you need to have sex with to be seen as a slut.. If you are in a relationship and you have sex with someone else, that's all it takes.. it makes sense right?.. that's a breach of loyalty and trust.. its probably harsh to say "slut".. that word is pretty harsh.. but yea.. I think if a girl is having meaningless sex just for the sake of it, that might make her a slut.

have to agree with doggy here. if you just f***ing every joe blow becuase your crazy horny that would make you a slut ( interestingly that would make a guy a player but that's another story)
if you've f***ed 50 guys and had meaningful relations with most of them you're no slut.

Its not necessarily the number of people, more the way you go about it.

In the most general terms slut just means adulterous or promiscuous woman. So, I guess in technicality, more than one sexual partner is all it takes.

In general terms though, in my personal opinion, if a girl is sleeping with any men outside of a relationship she is behaving in slutty fashion.

Personally, I would also say (though I believe this isn't as common thinking) that a girl who sleeps with someone in a relationship that's duration is shorter than a year on a repeated basis is also a kind of slut (or at least considered "easy" which is a politer form of the word).

The word is so often misused though that its almost meaningless these days except as a general purpose insult for anyone whos having sexual relations in a way that at least one other person disaproves of.

Sex is a personal issue and activity,if you're promiscuous and you tell people about your sex life,you will be labeled a "slut"
I believe those who are insecure about themselves and jealous call girls sluts.Sex is healthy and natural,and as I said before,is personal(unless you make it known,prepare to be judged).Being promiscuous doesn't make someone any less of a person.
I find it funny some will mention that it makes guys players,why should it differ?Both sexes can end up with an offspring,STD,or STI and an orgasm

When having sex you should have it with feelings towards the other person not because there hot or they look like they would be great to have sex with but have sex with someone because there's feelings and you want to build a relationship. If ur having sex with people for other reasons then yea ur a slut.

Probably doesn't have a number attached too it. Has more to do with how much everyone else knows about it. If you are pretty much making it known to everyone that you are f**king this guy and that guy, pretty much guarantee you will be looked at as a slut.
I was no angel in high school (regrettably) but my messing around was somewhere else other than the guys from my school, so nobody at my school really knew what I was up too. I most certainly would have made the slut category if not much worse at that time. I even kept my real sex life secret from my best girlfriend for first couple of years.

I personally think if a girl has slept with 2 guys by the time she's 18 she is a slut cause it's likely that she'll just keep going the same way.. but it isn't always the case so I don't think there's a specific age:number of boys ratio going on. I think it's more about how long they've been together cause if a girl slept with a guy at the age of 16 that she'd been with for two years and then broke up and slept with a guy after going about for a year I wouldn't consider her a slut but if a girl slept with two girls in 2 months at any age that is a slut right there.

DoggyDude - maybe this is just me but I think it's pretty closed minded to say that any sex outside a relationship makes you a slut. There are lots of people at places in their lives when they want to just have sex but without the commitment that comes with a relationship. Girls as well as guys. There's nothing wrong with that.

My personal definition of a 'slut' is someone who sleeps around without any respect for the consequences (such as if the other person is in another relationship, or if they're not using protection and maybe spreading diseases or starting unnecessary pregnancies, that sort of thing) or who flaunts their sexual adventures all the time, especially if they do it in an effort to gain some kind of respect. Which then makes a lot of guys sluts, I guess. But that's my opinion. I don't put much of an emphasis on gender.
