I got my third Depo shot on Monday, I was a week late without realizing it. And before then I had been having more frequent headaches. Since I got the shot I haven't had as many, but I woke up this morning randomly upset, like crying for no reason or over little things. Can birth control affect you like that?
My wife hasn't tried shots, but she went through a bunch of different oral ones and the ring. She gets migraine headaches and feels bad on them. We just use condoms now.
yes they can cause major mood swings. If it is doing that to you, I would suggest changing your birth control. It happened to me and after I changed it got better
im on the pill, and sometimes I forget to take it and get behind, and I will have random mood swings and just get really depressed sometimes, I even loose my appetite, I'm pretty sure its the birth control that f***s with your mind and body like that, I'm not positive that B/C is the reason, but I'm pretty sure.
Ya for sure, I was on depo her 5 years, along with a lot of my friends, we all experience weight gain, and some had the headaches and emotional mood swings, but I would talk to your doctor.
Anytime you add additional hormones to your body, a lot of different things can happen. I use pills, but I notice I still get a bit "swingy" in my emotions. It's all about finding the right combination of hormones, and sometimes it takes a few months for our body to adjust.
But if you're experiencing headaches, the shot may not be right for you. I had a friend who was physically ill because of the effects of the pill. Depending on the person, you may need to try some other options- the ring, the patch, diaphragm (cap), pill, female condom, or even a "T" rod (but that's for long term).
I swore off Depo because of the side effects I was dealing with. Granted not everyone suffers from them, but for me they were pretty much unbearable. I asked the doctor how the Depo worked and his explanation was it prevented you from ovulating, which freaked me out. I tried to ask him if I would still be having periods when I was in my 80's and all he did was laugh. I bled the whole three months, but emotionally I was PMSing the whole time as well. I completely lost my sex drive, which upset my husband to no end. It got to the point to where just kissing him repulsed me. Because it's a synthetic hormone, it can affect your emotions. Physically, I felt lethargic and gained weight. Ugh, I quit after the first shot and never dealt with it again.
Remember though, the effects are different for everyone - you can google "Depo side effects" and read testimonies from different women. But talk to your doctor as well, there might be another explanation for how you feel.
Nobody loves them, but everyone uses them when they have to. Lies can be as useful, as much as they can be hurtful. And how about those creative ones that when you hear, make you think how awful your...

Would we use this worn-out phrase as an excuse for being the screaming Banshees from Hell? Would we use it as a ploy for sympathy and attention? Would we use it as a reason not to go with you to Poker...
There's a commonly shared belief that condoms alter and distract from the pleasurable sensations of sex. Although this statement retains a shred of truth, can we really afford to put safety on the...
