Can anyone else (mostly guys but I guess it could apply for girls too) smell it when a girl's on her period?

No but really, the only reason I could see this happening is if she hasn't changed her tampon or pad in a while. Some girls do have a strong natural odor on their period. I mean in general, not necessarily the smell wafting from their crotch, haha. I feel like I remember reading somewhere that a girl's pheromones are different when she's ovulating, which would make sense for reproduction purposes, but you ovulate before your period, not on it. So that's odd that you'd be able to tell when a girl is on her period, especially a stranger whose differences in smell you wouldn't even know.

It's funny you ask because my ex could always tell when a woman was on her period. He said he would smell the pad or tampon, like the cotton or something. One time we were out to dinner and after the waitress took our orders and left he said that he could tell she was on her period. What an awesome convo to have while out at dinner. LOL

I have got to know how do you actually know they are on their periods do you ask them?

I smoke, I can't tell when someone's on their period but if I'm close to another person who's had sex I can smell it. I can also tell some of my friends apart via scent, especially if they're upwind and not because they wear too much perfume or deodorant.

You could probably smell it if she isn't clean, which is gross. That's the only way I smell another girl's period, and I agree with the other girl, because I can smell mine too.

OMG! I have always wondered the same question. For me, I can't smell other girls periods, but I can smell mine but that's probably because its my own body.

Me personally, I can't tell when she's full dressed. But If I pass by the bathroom, then to me it is very obvious.

Only if the girls don't use feminine spray or powder. After being like that all day whew you can smell it if the sit next to you. :P Also, I don't smoke and generally people who don't smoke have better senses of smell. That's what I heard anyway.
