Okay, so I've tried to shave my pubic area before, only to end up with a painful irritation. I know this has happened to plenty of people and I've read a few guides on how to do it around the internet. But, if I could get a somewhat similar list of tips on how to do this, that'd be nice! So, how would I go about shaving myself without ending up with that evil irritation?

Update: Does the wax hurt.?    4 months ago

Update: Also, I'm not planning on shaving my scrotum. Just the hair above my penis.    4 months ago

If you're scared about the pain and you're not doing your balls, then try hair removal cream.

Yeh, you get used to it after a bit though and to be honest it'd worth it because it means you're hair free for longer (can last up to a month) and no rash. Pain does depend also on the hair thickness, my hair is very thick and I bleed when I wax. but I have a high pain threshold.

It's probably best that you get it done professionally first so you can see how best to do it (they will be able to tell you tricks on how to wax with less pain).

I prefer to wax, and I wax myself as I don't fancy some strange woman peering down at me with hot wax! Shaving does tend to cause skin rashes if you try shaving sensitive places. hair removal cream isn't so good either but sometimes you can find cream that is ok for pubic hair. Waxing is the best bet - you can get a tub of it from your nearest pharmacy/toiletry shop.

Question Asker Does the wax hurt...? - 4 months ago
Answerer Yeah... but there are ways to make it hurt less, like doing it quickly and keeping the skin taut. I whipped all mine off two days ago and it's great :). Before you wax use some talcum powder, and then again afterwards. - 3 months ago

Don't use an electric shaver on your balls! I use a razor, the good kind like schick or gilette, one of the ones with a bunch of blades. I use pro edge shaving gel, warm water, and just keep rinsing the blades with warm water.

Question Asker I'm not planning on shaving all the way down there O_O
I'm way too scared I'll cut the scrotum. Just the pubic hairs above the penis. - 4 months ago
Answerer You won't cut the scrotum if you use a straight edge and gel. I do it all the time. But you can do what you want. Just don't use an electric on your scrotum and you'll be fine. - 4 months ago

if you shave against the grain you may have more irritation.
