Real Christian and being gay

I am not gay and I actually don't like gay men because they are annoying and have a feminine voice and I don't like the sound of it. And I don't like lesbians who are just plain nasty, hairy, butch, and who try to be men because it looks ugly.

But I still feel they have a right to be what they want to be. And with regards to Christianity Paul specifically mentions some things about gay men and he tells men not to be gay. I don't know if Paul says anything about women though. But I actually don't care what Paul says. I only care about what Jesus says in the gospels and I only listen to the gospels. I down right ignore the rest of the New Testament. Jesus is the only one I listen to.

And Jesus doesn't say anything about being gay in the gospels. So according to my view of Christianity I don't think being gay is a contradiction with Christianity.

I think that real Christians can struggle with their sexuality too. Just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean that he/she doesn't have any issues to deal with. Everyone who comes to Christ is a sinner in some form or other because the Bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." This means you too! Being gay or having a problem with one's sexuality is just another sin - just like pride, judgment and how we treat other people. God loves and accepts us all - He doesn't reject a person because the person is gay. He may not be happy about the choices we all make, but He knows why we make choices and why we do what we do. When we make a decision to judge someone because they are gay or have other issues, we are taking the place of God. That's why it's called judgment - only God is allowed to have the final judgment over people. We are to love and accept people where they are at. Jesus ate with sinners and showed them His love. People are not won over to God by judgment or threat of rejection or punishment. They are won over to God by God showing His unconditional love towards them. The Bible also says, "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." That means that He loved us enough to die for us while we were still doing the bad things that are harmful for us and that hurt the heart of God. Please be aware that your thoughts and attitude are probably pushing people away from God instead of bringing people to God. The scripture also says that it's God's kindness that leads us to repentance. When God is kind to us - even though we don't deserve it, we feel convicted for our sins and want to repent. It's like the old story about a challenge between the wind and the sun.The wind and the sun saw a man walking down a path one day, and they said to each other, "Let's see who can make the man take off his cloak." First, the wind blew and the man pulled his cloak tighter around him. Then, the wind tried harder to blow the man's cloak off him, but the man just pulled it even tighter yet. This continued for quite a while with the man becoming colder and trying to keep warm with his only protection, which was his cloak. Finally, the wind agreed that he was getting nowhere with the man and the sun decided to have a go at it. The sun began to shine a bit harder and brighter in order to try to warm the man up. The man began to loosen his cloak a bit. Next, the sun tried a bit harder and became hotter. The man loosened his cloak some more. Finally, the sun shone in all his brightness and got a bit closer to the earth. The man began to sweat and took his cloak off. The sun had won the challenge. This is representative of how we need to treat each other and how God wins us - He allows His Son (Sun) to love us until we are warm enough to trust Him and thus take off the sin that hinders us. Hopefully, all of us Christians can remember this for the future - myself included! :)

Well, thank god I'm not a christian. Didn't Jesus say love your brother? Isn't your god supposed to be a loving god? If that isn't that case then he is no god of mine. Didn't Christ say judge not least ye shall be judged?

I thought the value in being Christian was in being able to forgive and not make a man wrong. It is the teaching of man that make people wrong not Christ. Whether you believe Christ was the son of God or a prophet, I don't think he would stand for your kind of rants.

I happen to be in Key West at the moment getting ready to go visit the Gay Pride Parade. I'm not gay, but I sure am glad that there are gays in the world. They have not killed anyone for their faith like the Christians have. What a crock of shit to say you are Christian when you consider the hate that spews forth from people like you.

To be a Christian you just have to believe in Christ and god, so I really don't understand what you mean by a "true Christian" , do you mean a Christian that doesn't commit sins, because if so you aren't a true Christian either, there is most likely no true Christians then. Also if you really think about it god created us all so he created gays, lesbians, and bi sexuals, so if he made them than he obviously meant it to be that way. Do people honestly think that everyone is born straight and then they just decide later on in life that they want to be with their same sex and be ridiculed by people like you, no who would so that, they are born that way and they can't help it. Its good for them to except who they are and there is nothing wrong with being gay, all the gay people I know are very nice and some of them are Christian and it really peeves me that some people can have so much hate for them, yes and your supposed to love your brother so the way you are talking it sounds like you hate them.

What I think is this: I think that you can be a Christian and be gay at the same time. The only thing you have to do in order to a Christian is believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth and died for our sins and that he will one day return, and also trust in him. For a long time, my mom's cousin knew something was wrong with him. He was a very strong Christian and had an amazing relationship with God, but he knew something was wrong. So finally one day he figured out that he was gay.
Abomination in gayness depends on if you chose to act upon your attraction. I think that if you are gay and you try your whole life to be as God and not to act gay then you have done nothing wrong, but if you chose to live a life of sin then it is just like any other sin.

In the grand scheme of things, people have the right to love WHOEVER THEY WANT.

If people want to love god and love another woman/man, than that's there own right and choice, not yours.

im catholic! god created us all . so there for he created gays and lesbians there is nothing wrong with this at all! does being gay mean you will murder someone or do something as bad as that? I've never understood this view. You think being gay is a sin. I don't, but whatever, we're talking about you here. As far as I know there is no other sin that would preclude you from being Christian. Isn't that correct? Couldn't you be a murderer and a Christian? So what makes this one sin so special that it would trump everything else about a person?

God created everyone right? Well then gays and lesbians have a purpose then. Everybody was created equal. Yet they are denied equal rights. Now tell me why that is justified.
