Does incest really happen in rural areas or the south that much?

you really wouldn't know about it because incest is very taboo and no one would talk about it. I am from georgia by the way. I was in math class with this boy who said that his parents are 2nd cousins.

i think it would be more likely to happen in very small isolated rural areas because overtime if people don't leave town and they all stay in one area, most people would happen to be related in some way, so they would get together that way.

my dad's ex girlfriend told me a story in her family...she has 9 brothers and sisters that lived in her household, but her dad traveled a lot and cheated so she had several other half brothers and sisters. well one of her nieces met this guy and they hit it off and fell in love. when they were going to announce their engagement they ended up finding out that they were related. :(

I live in a town with about two thousend people at most. There hasn't been one case of inces.. its sorrta rediculus.

Certain religions and cultures might be more likely to arrange marriages between family members, but I don't think incest between immediate family members (like brother and sister) happens much anywhere. In general people don't tend to be attracted to their siblings. I don't think that certain areas have more incidents of sibling incest- I'm pretty sure it's a rare thing all round.

I live in the south and feel like I don't hear about it anymore then in other parts of the country although I don't live in a small town there are plenty of people to choose from in the area so no need to do a sibling.

it happens. I have done it with 3 sisters & still going strong with 2 sisters. with one sister I have taken it to the next level.

Incest happens as much (if not more) in populous cities as in rural areas. I have been involved with multiple incestuous relationships and only 2 of them were in a rural area. Most of my family and I have lived in metropolitan areas almost my whole life.

I don't think it is headline news anymore like in the 80's. Back in the seventies it was all over the contry, but mainly in places like Utah where there are Mormons.
