I really don't think there's anything wrong with asking. In the best relationships I've had both of us have felt free to ask the other for anything and both of us have also felt free to say no. Even if she doesn't like doing it, only a terribly selfish girl would be upset at you for asking. Besides, it's nice to be wanted.

Don't ask a girl for oral sex, don't even insinuate. Do start the foreplay.
