I've been taking pills, and they help to some extent, but I've had friends on "The Shot" and "The Patch", I heard that the shot helps take away the cramps and the surprise red spots, it effects the future ability to have kids. Not sure about that.your opinion?
Taking pills has helped "to some extent" seems pretty scary? Does that mean you now have at least one child?
Unfortunately, abstinence is the most effective form of birth control, but that isn't very practical. As far as effectiveness from preventing birth control the shot and the patch are the most effective along with sterilization followed by the IUD and the vaginal ring. These of course don't protect you from STI's that you can get from having sex with someone infected. Even the male condom is only good for 88% of the time.
For me, I never like to put drugs into my or my partners body especially around the reproductive area that could have an affect on something down the road. It seems pretty safe with some of the noted drawbacks. I personally chose the vasectomy route.
Ah, well, I have no kids, I'm, just tired of the cramps- I hear that the patch and shot takes away the once-a -month bleeding, but I guess not from what I hear. - 4 months ago

I know a lot of people who gained significant amounts (20-50 lbs) on the shot and I got pregnant off the patch. I am on the Nuvaring now and would recommend it to anyone!
I'm using the IUD and I think it's great. It's expensive initially, but over time it becomes cheaper than the pill and you don't have to remember anything. It's also even more effective than the pill.
Well my sister is on the shot and it does take away the cramps but ever sins she got the shot she has had her period. I'm not saying that's going to happen to you but it does happen. The patch makes you gain weight after a while, and the patch has this one ingredient that may cause damage in the future. So I think you should stick with the pill because I take the pill and I haven't had any problems. I have shorter periods and no cramps.
