OK. I am 41 and have experienced this many (holding my hands up and wiggling my fingers) girls. I have never heard of anyone referring to an orgasm as only an orgasm and referring to cumming as only cumming. I have always thought that cumming and an orgasm are one and the same. I will have to post my 2nd question on this site to determine if there is a difference between the the two. I assume an "orgasm" is something along the lines of a near-religious experience, while just "cumming" is a quick shiver and over and done with. Am I right? I will post a question on this site shortly to get a variety of answers, but call me dumb, I thought they were one and the same.?
As for masturbating and the time it takes for a woman to achieve orgasm/cumming, my wife can hit the magic spot in under 5 minutes if she is concentrating, but can sometimes take an hour or more to get there, especially if she is distracted (reading a book, or doing a crossword puzzle, or crocheting, etc. - Yes, she can multitask by the way - ahhhh, the wonders of modern sex toys!). I believe it is different for all women and what/how they are thinking about it. If you are focused on just pleasuring yourself, you can probably bust one out pretty quick, but if you are thinking about what you will wear tomorrow and whether or not you have your assignment completed/etc., it will probably take a little longer. It is my understanding that if it takes "too" long, the clitoris becomes overstimulated and sometimes has a hard time reacting to even the "perfect" touch. This is sort of like asking how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop. The owl counts three, but it takes me 63. Who knows, and frankly, who cares, as long as you get there?
