ehhh. the breasts main purpose is to be sexual, not to feed young. the space required to house all the mammary glands, even at the peak of their size and at normal spacing, is tiny. We're the only mammals that have distended breasts at all outside of pregnancy and our extra growth during pregnancy far outpaces the comparable growth of other mammals. Breasts are, from science's point of view, a method of sexual attraction first and an organ of nurturing second.
with all of that said, I think that breastfeeding is completely normal and can be done out in public just fine. doesn't bother me. I look over, sure, but its really to see the baby rather than the breast. I do think if other bystanders feel uncomfortable they should be able to say so and the breast feeding woman should move to somewhere a little more private. But if she wishes to do it wide out in the open she should be able to as well as long as she is attempting a little modesty (haha, nothing ridiculous like taking her whole shirt off in the middle of a court room. But if she's trying to remain decently covered up, I can't see any issues with it.)

" This is true I have read about it before. a women could look completely flat chested and her boobs would still have the functionality of Double Ds. I think it had something to do with humans standing upright. Ever since they started to do that they needed organs or "balloons" to attract a mate while facing them since asses "the other balloons" are at the rear and out of sight while interacting with someone.

The main purpose of a female breast is to feed the children she gives birth to. America and the rest of the planet however has glorified breasts as only made for a mans sexual arousal. But I personally would never be turned on by a woman who is breastfeeding since it is just the natural way of keeping humanities young fed and strong.

There was a Married With Children episode about this - Al throws a breastfeeding woman out of his store so Marcy comes back with a half a dozen breastfeeding women to torture Al, saying that there's nothing wrong it as breasts are perfectly natural. Al responds by getting a bunch of fat hairy guys to dance around the store shirtless. I think that kind of sums up how men and women in America view breastfeeding in public.

I love to look at breasts. I find them as a great turn-on. However, when a mother is feeding her child, there is nothing more beautiful and non-sexual sight on this earth. Breastfeeding is NOT a turn-on for me.
It makes me feel a little uncomfortable, but that's not the woman's fault. I often get aroused when I see women breastfeeding their babies, especially in public. I'm not exactly sure why it's so hot to me, but it just is. I have tried breast milk and maybe that's why it instantly arouses me. I have a hard time not staring and wishing I was the baby suckling on that sweet milk while my head lays in her lap. What an experience that is, not completely sexual, but almost nuturing. I just feel like a complete asshole for making the mother's feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding their child because some dude with perverted issues can't stop looking. The purpose of the human female breast is dual in nature: Yes it ultimately is there to feed babies, as it is in all mammals. However, I humans, the female breast is swollen even when not nursing, as a sexual indicator to males of the health of the female (often the main sexual signal).
So, though I intellectually know that breastfeeding is natural and proper, I find myself unable to separate the sexual aspect of breasts from the nursing aspect, and am inappropriately aroused by the act of nursing when it occurs in front of me.
Nothing wrong with it, but I feel a little awkward because I tend to look. That's my problem, not hers.
The last time I saw someone breastfeeding in public was when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. We were at a play put on by the local college at out school and she whipped it out and started feeding her baby. I think that is kind of irresponsible. She should have excused herself and done it elsewhere.

Well, it actually is appropriate for that purpose though I do agree that she didn't need to make an issue of it. I would have been more comfortable in a more private place, but maybe she was just trying to show the youth of America that breastfeeding is appropriate. That or she didn't even think twice about it.
The breast is currently seen a sexual part, would you agree? Whipping it out among immature school children while they are supposed to be watching a play is not appropriate whatsoever. I don't even know why she had a baby in there in the first place. I don't see why she couldn't excuse herself until she was finished instead of causing a stir around her. The fact that 6 people disagreed with me on this is very odd to me.
I would find it pretty trashy if I ever see someone breast feeding their child in public. This is a different generation and we have different ways we do things. Maybe a while ago that was considered normal, but so was having sex with 12 year olds. Get my drift?

It's not trashy even by a mile. But it may be inappropriate in certain situations for example a place where young kids and adolescents are present who don't have the maturity to understand and respect the situation.
