Why aren't guys called sluts??

I think guys like that are just called "assholes!"

Don't you think that girls know which guys are sleeping around about like guys know which girls are? I thought "Player" was the equivalent of "Slut" as far a gender. The key here is that girls know as well as guys who was sleeping around, and if a person has any self respect or decency and doesn't want either of these two labels, then they just have to be careful not to be sleeping around. It's not as easy in college as it was in high school to know who was or who wasn't because in high school us guys were very much aware who the sluts were, but not any better than the girls knew who the players were. One was a bad as the other. Both knew what they were doing was wrong but didn't care and tried to justify their actions. But all in all, I think the girls get the rap just a little easier than guys do for some of the reasons some of the other people answered here quite well.

You are correct that there is a double standard and I believe it is one that has been created as a control mechanism over women.

I have absolutely no problem with a woman who has had many partners. It means she can bring some experiences to me that I might not be aware of. Being called a slut is meaningless unless you take on that it has meaning.

I would suggest thanking a person who might call you a slut for recognizing that you are empowered to take what you want sexually and enjoy yourself.

idk about another guy but I have been called a slut a few times but the differences is it doesn't bother me or anything because I'm just a guy supposedly all I think about is sex so it doesn't matter to girls if I'm a "slut" or not.

Society has always seen women with a standard when it come to sex. It's not that you see girls cheer or brag when they found out that their friend slept with so-and-so and how many guys she's been with. Men have a more hormonal imbalace, causing them to want sex a lot more than women. But there is another name for calling men sluts, They're called "Players". Women use the term "Player" to actually put down a guy, almost like a warning to other girls.

I disagree to some extent. YES there is a double standard and I think there always will be due to HOW men and women are DIFFERENT (emotionally vs getting off) with sex. I WAS a SLUT, not a stud, because I threw values out the window and simply had sex with whomever, regardless of standards. A "stud" on the other hand is successful with many women but stands up for his own beliefs and values, and does not simply sleep with just anyone (think james bond)

I think it's just because it is easier for women to get sex. On any given night, the average women that isn't too overweight or too ugly can go out to a club or bar and get laid. Somewhere out there there is a man that will f*** you on any given night.

Not so true for a man. When a man goes out there is no guarantee he will get laid. Unless he is super attractive or super rich, a guy can never call out guaranteed sex. There isn't even a guarantee a guy will even get into the club or bar because most places won't let men in unless they have a girl anyway. They don't just let dudes in by themselves. Women can just call their friends and hit a club and all will get in. If a guy goes to a club with 3 or 4 of his friends, they won't get passed the velvet rope.

Basically sex for a man is like putting in job applications. Sex for a woman is like being the interviewer. As a man you need to be qualified to even have a chance of getting laid with an ugly chick. Women can choose at their own discretion.

So a man that does sleep with a lot of women must eally be something else because women are the deciders when it comes to sex. It's more of an accomplishment for a man than a bad thing.

I don't call women sluts, but women that sleep around with a lot of loser guys to me don't deserve respect. Because they're just being greedy.

They say over 80% of the women in the world are having sex on a regular basis but only 20% of the male population is having sex on a regular basis. More and more I am starting to agree with that statistic.

Guys aren't really criticized in the sense that they are the "dominant" race and they can do what ever they f***ing please. which is untrue. plus we have it harder because we are the ones giving birth to men (who in earth started calling them the "dominant race" we give birth to them)

thats what I think. when a girl dates or has sex with many girls, he's known as cool, or a playa, or a pimp. but when girls do it, theyre known as skanks, or sluts. that ain't fair! its wrong! but idk

It's a double standard, in this day and age it shouldn't really matter.but it does matter by a lot of folk, mostly male folk!

It's a sterotype and a double standard. Besides there is a name for guys like that.
