Okay first of all, get one thing straight. Unlike women, men see sex as JUST SEX. Having sex will not "take it to the next level". Guys can have sex with people who they have no feelings for whatsoever (I know it's hard to believe, because for us it's all an emotional-bonding thing).
How long have you known this guy? If he brought up sex within the first 3 weeks (or even month) he's just looking for sex. Are you even IN A RELATIONSHIP?
He was talking about sex on the phone because he was horny and was testing to see if you'd "be up for it" and be a chick who gave in. Having sex with a guy DOES NOT make him like you more; I repeat -- IT DOES NOT MAKE HIM LIKE YOU MORE. In fact, you should put it off sex for a while (if you want a serious relationship with the guy) so that you'll know if he takes you seriously, if he also wants something serious to develop, if he respects you, and so he can get to ACTAULLY KNOW YOU. Guys won't give a sh*t about you if you throw yourselves at them (it doesn't matter how horny you are) after the sex. I know it's harsh but it's the truth.
If you don't want anything serious, by all means go ahead and give it to him. Just know what you're getting yourself into. Most girls don't get into those situations because they DO get emotionally attached with sex.
Ask more girls about this; they'll tell you the same thing. Good luck.
