The angle is usually the key here. If it hurts, change it. Either you should move a bit or she should. Also, does your penis curve up a lot by chance? I don't know if this is universally true, but I have had a harder time with doggy style when I've been with a guy like that. It felt like it was curving up into some place it shouldn't be. If that's the case, you should try to position yourself so that it's going in as straight as possible.

Sex no matter what the position will hurt if there isn't enough foreplay. I know guys like to jump right into it, but women need foreplay to get all the natural lubricants going. So try pleasing her a bit more before getting into doggy style. If it still hurts for her then she's probably not that into doing it that way.
