i have been on here a while and I asked a question a while back and someone said "i didn't notice she was underage so yes I think she is too young to have sex" so I guess my question is how old do you actually have to be to be considered "of age" to have sex? because I no it should be married but people can get married around 15 or 16 with parental consent...and if people haven't found the right one yet or say they are like the 40 year old virgin? what is the perfect age to be able to have sex? honestly
there is no age per say but there is a time if you haven't hit puberty then you shouldn't be having sex my opinion whenever you can support her if she gets pregnant
A 16-year old is still a child. Lets be honest, most 16 year olds ain't no where near ready for marriage are they? Let's stop kidding ourselves. Sex is for adults. But as human-beings we do what we feel, and we have to bear the consequences, which just get worse from generation to generation
Actually its 16 in a lot of states. - 9 months ago

Wow, I had no idea it was actually that low. Well that explains a lot. No wonder every girl and her sister are getting pregnant nowadays. - 9 months ago
Actually, 16 is ok unless one of the two people having sex is older than 18, if one of them is older than 18 then its technically statutory rape. consented, but not legal. - 9 months ago
there really isn't any age when you should have sex; it basically just depends on the person; you need to be able to trust your partner not to run out on you if something were to go wrong; whenever you're ready would be the right time; but you need to be mature enough to handle the consequences.
the legal age of consent is 16+ I would recommend anything under 16 but just because the law says that you are aloud to at 16 that doesn't mean you have to just wait until your ready
Well I think it is disgusting when people have sex 14 or 13 years or younger, I'm still a virgin, but I say the right age, is 16 or 17, but it also depends on how emotionally stable you are
Well thank you and yes I totally agree on the 14 and under that is too young yes I think so but I understand what you are saying I was with the guy I was with for like a year before doing anything with him when I turned 16 (real close to 17 lol) and we are still together so I think to me that is ok :D - 8 months ago

O yeah, that's fine, as long as you are "ready" - 8 months ago
i think you should wait till marriage! but if you really love the guy then go right ahead. now if you like 13 and under I really don't think that is a good age but 14 and up I think is good!
I no exactly what you are saying because I really do love him and we were going out for a little over 2 years before we did that so I think its ok but that's just me and we are still going strong :D - 9 months ago
I definitely think it should be lower to mid twenties for both sexes. Puberty and adolescence are so emotionally overwhelming. I think it's a good idea to let the hormones settle down before you throw in the possibility of pregnancy and STD's into the mix. To me, there isn't enough frank information available for teens to make an educated decisions about sex. I realize that some teens mature faster than others, but there seems to be such misconceptions about sex, expectations and self worth with the younger generation in the US. It isn't until you have the time to mentally catch up to your physical maturity that you can truly accept and embrace your sexuality. Granted, there are quite a few older individuals that will never come to terms with sex and self acceptance, but I believe that is a result of low self esteem, self recrimination - and a host of other problems damaged people deal with. I feel this way mainly because of the negative associations with sex in this country. I don't think that most girls have the will to withstand how society views them if they were to embrace their sexual desires. The labels and judgements they have to deal with follows them for life, so it's just best to wait until you can come to terms with and accept your own desires. It's damaging to be judged so harshly for being honest about how you feel - no matter how old you are. But women will continue to be held up to unrealistic expectations from society, it's just the way things are.
My friends and I all began having sex between 17 and 19 years of age and none of us regret it. You just need to be old enough to make appropriate decisions and know how to protect yourself.
I would say married, but you already said that and that's what I think would be perfect. Other than that it all depends on the person and how they feel. if anyone is going out and having sex just because they are "the perfect age" they obviously are not the right age so it all depends
