so my mom talked to me after I got my boyfriend and said that if I ever thought I would have sex with him that I should come and talk to her about it. she would then take me to the doctor and put me on birth control. she said she would do this because she wants me to be smart about sex and not get pregnant. is this an uncommon thing for a mom to be so cool with? she said all I would have to say is I think I need to go to the doctor and there would be no questions asked. she wouldn't try and stop me because I would have sex anyways and she would rather me be protected. my sister got pregnant in high school so she doesn't want me to make the same mistake.
No that's a totally standard and responsible thing for your mother to do. My mom and I had the same talk when I was in high school as did most of my friends with most of their mothers. She's just being realistic (esp. because of your sister's situation) and saying that if you're going to have sex, she wants you to be fully educated and protected.
see, I think you're lucky. a lot of mothers would try to stop their daughters from having sex. and there are mothers that would FLIP if they ever found out you were having sex. you should be really relieved your mom talked to you about that because that means if something bad happens, you'll have her to go to.
Just sounds like your mom is being real cool about it. (:so just go and get the birth control if you do plan on having sex. and be happy that she wants you to be safe.
