Public erection problem?

Yeah, that sounds weird.
Popping a boner in public is slightly embarrassing, but it's not the end of the world. Unless you're around kids or nuns or something. That would be a "crawl under a rock and die" moment.
But if you're with your girlfriend and around adults, what the hell. We all know what a penis looks like.

I read what the other 3 guys said before me and I totally disagree. I never heard of a guy being so touchy and edgy like that and I talk with a LOT of guys and girls and see them in action. If he actually dislikes showing affection in public then he should tell you but a guy like that is going to be lukewarm at best when with you in private. Usually, in public it's the other way around because when a guy has to be worried about getting an erection he's more unlikely to get one, not more likely. Fortunately, guys have more control of himself than that otherwise something is wrong like their minds are totally centered on sex. Of course maybe an occasional one, but not to the point that it poses a problem like you mentioned. If guys couldn't control themselves better than that they'd surely made special clothes to totally hide such things and still look nice. lol! Tell him to wear a jock strap or w/e. I think you need to look behind his problem to see if for some odd reason he's wanting to hide being affectionate with you in front of other people. It is odd and maybe it's him that has the plague and is trying not to give it to you. You should be able to do simple affectionate things in public without him going ape. Call his bluff and see what happens. If he actually has that problem then ask him to wear more appropriate under clothing.

Men are easily excited, including in public, when they get too close to a women they are attracted to. He may be telling the truth but at the same time he may be using it as a reason not to have PDA. Understand, many people don't care for PDA...it's a personal taste. Depending on how long you have been with your man it may be something you two need to balance out or work on.

I have never been too affectionate with my girlfriends in public because I feel it's too personal to do such things in public. Also, depending on what you're doing men will get aroused...remember we can't control that guy down there ;)

Yer don't most guys get an erection after nice long kisses in public? You just have to learn to hide it really... It usually hurts if you push your erection down so you can't really do that but what you can do is put it so that it is facing up towards your belly button and then usually the waist of your trousers will stop it from looking obvious because it will hold it up and so there won't be a lump in your trousers.

I wouldn't be able to stand it. Maybe over time you could get used to it, or maybe find an an aphrodisiac and slip it into his food on a regular basis. lol
