I'm 17 years old, 5'10 & I weigh about 115 kilo...
I don't know how much that is in American measurements ;)

I need to lose weight, I'm noticing its getting in the way...
I can't be as fast as I want to, I can't do everything I want like I used to.. don't get me wrong, I've always been a big girl. But in the past 6 months I gained 25 kilo's... did you read that right! 25 KILO'S! and I hate it...

I know that everyone will tell me to go work out and eat healthy. I've been going to the gym 4 times a week for about 2 hours for the last 2 years, I don't eat fast food or unhealthy food because my mother is a nature freak...

I eat 3 times a day, breakfast = 2 slices of brown bread and a glass of milk, lunch = a sandwich and water and dinner is always vegetables and some meat
I mostly drink water about 2 liters and sometimes more, I also drink a coup of coffee every day.

I don't see what I'm doing wrong, I have a condition ( I have no idea what it's called in america) but my body doesn't produce enough hormones and that's why my insulin level is messed up most of the time... I'm not diabetic and I have a busted knee so I can't do everything I want.

I used to be in the swim team and compete in national qualifications, I always lost but I was good enough to compete...

Can someone please help me! I'm willing to do anything except surgery...

Ummmmm...so, that is 253 pounds... I would say you need to get some cardio in... 3-5 times per week. Whether it be walking starting out, then after two weeks add in a jog/walk routine where you walk 3 minutes and jog 1 minute. . . .do that for about 6 weeks... if you are healthy otherwise. . . IF you have knee trouble, I would do biking or elliptical...remember, if it is a stationary bike...3 miles= 1 mile of running/jogging .. .since your knee is a bum, the elliptical would be less impacting than jogging. . .I wouldn't even do the jog part, just stick to the walking..then maybe speed walk for a minute and walk reg. for 2 minutes or something. After doing this for 6 weeks...(to get your metabolism a boost) I would start doing light weights...this will start the toning process... SO, while you are doing your jog/walk routines... on the off days- start to do weights. . .work your basic body groups... women usually have stronger legs than arms...so, start working your arms and back with a light weight doing bicep curls- 3 sets 15 reps... so, 3sets bicep curl 15 times. . . then do tricep kick backs... bending over..back straight, elbows at your side. Your arm should be a 90 degree triangle, the 90 degrees being at your elbow...then extend your elbow back towards your butt... 3sets 15reps. . . . . then you can do one arm rows by bending over, letting your arm dangle, and pulling the weight to your chest...which works out some upper back. . . .your lower back will be getting a little toned just from walking and being active..your legs will be getting toned from walking and being active. .. . Now, after you have done with for a total of 12 weeks or something...then I would consult a personal trainer to find out more precise exercises... Also, do 25 crunches every other day starting out, and then after a couple weeks, start doing 25 crunches every day... After a couple weeks...add ten every other day and just keep building up...if you hit 50 or 60.. I would just stick to that, but if it feels really good then keep going up... IF you have any other more specific questions...hit me up.

Answerer Gaining 55 pounds in the last 6 months is due to not working out...you have a slow metabolism, I have the same problem.... I ate out ALL the time and ate way too much food when I did that.... IF you do eat out a lot...eat half or 1/3.... instead of two pieces of toast, eat one... instead of a BIG glass of milk, get a smaller glass...just cut down.. ALSO, it may be good to go to a doctor to see if that is normal to gain weight that fast, and just to see if there is any underlying issues... - 4 months ago

That's 250 lbs, and that's quite a lot.

I weigh 170 lbs, am pretty athletic, and am 6'. A generally good weight to measure by is 5', add five pounds per inch for a healthy weight.

Eating healthy in the developed world isn't NEARLY as much as eating LESS. Exercise briefly (even two minutes or so) after every meal. Park your car further away from the store you're going to. Ride or walk to the store rather than drive. Spend less time at a desk and more on your feet- I'm typing this standing at the dining room table, (which for some reason comes up to my ribs.)

I eat 2x a day, if I'm lucky to catch a meal. I can't on Wednesdays- class at all times that the dining halls are open. Drinking water doesn't *Really* help your health- it's an ad campaign by bottled water advocates. The truth is that the following sentence was "most of which is absorbed by the body from regular foods." The weight you have is putting additional strain on your heart and joints- that knee won't get any better. Swimming is a good idea, it doesn't place strain on joints.

My sister suggests the following: "get out of your comfort zone," and expands by saying that many who go to the gym simply do a basic workout, barely get sweaty. Unless you push yourself almost to the point of collapse, then you are essentially keeping your body in stasis, rather than burning calories.

Also, see a doctor about your condition, see if there's any way your insulin problem is affecting your weight.

Best of luck.

You need to make sure you eat. If you don't eat, then your metabolism goes down, because your body doesn't know when it's going to eat again, so when you finally do, it stores it as fat. But if you eat a bunch of small meals throughout the day, you never pig out on food, and your metabolism goes up. You also need to drink a lot of water every day.

As far as exercising, if you could join a gym that would be best. You should do 30 min of cardio exercise and 30 min of weights/machines to tone 4 or 5 times a week. This way you can burn calories and tone your muscles.

But the key is, is to keep with working out. If you burned 300 calories a day, over the course of a year, think about how many calories you would have burned. Do you think there would be a difference in your body? Of course there would. Keep at it, and don't get discouraged.

hmm. You are an endomorph in technical terms. An endomorph is a person who easily gains weight. I see 2 culprits in your diet. Milk & meat. What I would suggest you is that you don't drink milk as it contains fat & a lot of calories. Also cut down on meat as it, too contains a lot of fat. In place of these 2, eat salads instead. You will see it for yourself when you cut down on the above 2.

You need to exercise at least 6 times a week if you want to rapidly lose weight.

Also on Google search engine, type "losing weight for endomorphs" and read the information which you get. Also go here --> www.pdf-seach-engine.com and in the search box type "endomorph". The result which shows up, are the ebooks which contains all the vital information which you want in order to lose weight. Download & save them to your computer, read and follow what is given.

You will succeed. All the Best. :-)

Question Asker I used to be on a diet where I only ate meat 1 time a week and sometimes no meat for a couple of weeks and drinking milk wasn't allowed either, before I used to go to the gym everyday...
Thank you for your helping to those sites ;) - 7 months ago
Answerer Yeah ! your welcome :-) - 7 months ago
Answerer Also, there are various fat burners available in the market. Fat burners are powders which helps you burn more calories. Also, do you sweat during your workout ? You should, because you burn more calories that way. Take the advice of your trainer at gym before starting fat burners though. The 2 well known brands are Optimum Nutrition (ON) (www.optimumnutrition.com) & Ultimate Nutrition (www.ultimatenutrition.com). Ultimate Nutrition products are cheap & give better results. Good Luck :-) - 7 months ago

MrNameless She can also stick to buying 1% fat milk (or fat free) if she hasn't already.

Overall.. I'd tell her to lay off the junk food (eat more healthy food instead like more fruits vegetables, whole grains), drink more water, and decrease your caloric intake overall.

In addition you'll have to do cardio exercises as well (such as jogging, running, swimming). - 5 months ago

eating healthy and nutritiously and avoiding high calorie/ empty calorie foods is the way to go. avoid junk and drin klots of water. make sure you eat enough nutritous foods like those with vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. I always have a vegetarian protein drink mix every morning and I take my multivitamins as well. jogging helps as well but make sure you do't starve yourself because that actually will hinder fat/ carb/ prtein and general metabolism ie. if you starve yourself, you're actually doing more harm to your body than good. my friend lost a lot of weight drinking a lot of green tea. she's bigger than me but she just started to watch what she ate and it helped her

I think the only way to really lose weight is too have will power, you could be on any diet in the world but if you don't hve the will power to stick to it your fighting a losing game. It's really important that you want it, the more badly you want it the more will power you will have and in the end that's what it comes down too, but I know how hard it can be to stick to something. Goodluck!

Answerer Obviously if you have an underlying medical reason for your weight such as a thyroid problem willpower isn't going to be a great help, because their is a biological cause behind it, I just want to make that clear. - 6 months ago

It sounds like your diet is pretty healthy. It also sounds like you work out enough. I can't explain your weight.
