Ok, so when you see size zero girls, what do you think? Does it repulse or attract you? From a girls point of view, I think it is disgusting. They are dangerously skinny and its not good for their health, as well as their image.
Update: This question is really aimed at models who are skinny to the point of looking like a skeleton just to become that size. Not to people who are naturally that size. Sorry for not clarifying that.

I've seen beautiful girls that have been anywhere from size 0 to 10
It all depends on height and proportion - you have to take everything into account.
models have to be that thin because most women's clothing is modeled for coat hangers/young boys/men - I'm 6'4 and believe it or not, I've found women's pants, jackets, and shirts that fit me perfectly - make sense? Yeah, I didn't think so either.
Remember, most men in the fashion biz prefer men in the bedroom - and it often is reflected in the cut of their fashion lines
Ladies, ladies! Let us not focus and debate too much on size =) The truth of the matter is that most men don't care about size. Whether a gal has size 0 or size 10, she can still be very attractive to a man. Many men can tell you specific features on a woman that they find appealing, e.g. red lips, shinny hair, large eyes, so on. But usually, these men can't tell you the underlining theme as to WHY they find these traits attractive. In an evolutionary perspective, mens sexual preference is not to complicated. We men, whether it is consciously or subconsciously, are simply searching signs or markers of fertility. Along with the features listed above, a womens body shape is a telling sign of her fertility. Notice that I said SHAPE, not size. So things like weight, height, and pants size are irrelevant(now, lets not go into the extreme and talk about someone whos 50 lbs and is 7 feet+). The general shape men find appealing is of course that hourglass shape. The small waist and large hip not only contributes to this shape, but they also indicate that the woman had a surge of estrogen during puberty, thus fertility. More interestingly, we men somehow seem to be able to read a womans fertility just by gaging at her hip to waist ratio. I believe the ideal number for hip-to-waist ratio is around .70. If a womans number is higher than that, say .8, she is thought as being to masculine and lacks estrogen. So ladies, don't worry about what size you wear. Just know that if your waist is a certain size, then your hips should be a certain size larger.
I personally don't like it when a girl is really skinny. I would rather a girl have some nice curves and some shape then looking a rail with long hair.
I think the real problem is attacking the model industry for wanting girls to look this way. It is only make other girls less attractive about their body and giving "some" guys the idea that real beauty is the measured by the size of their clothes. - 4 months ago
same same. when they are sickly skinny its like they care more about their self image than taking care of their body and their health. they care more about what people think that what is right for them.
I don't think guys care about sizes. They just care about appearance in general. Besides, its not like a guy can tell what size you wear, and as long as the girl looks good to him he won't care.
Also, its not a runway models job to be "hot', its to show off the clothes as well as possible. Yes, some are unhealthy. But some aren't, and its not very nice to say they're disgusting.
What size do I look in my pictures? I'm a size 3-4 and NOT a zero or skinny but I have curves and workout and take care of my health and all this being a mother of one 5yr old.
All this to say. A size is just that. And those models suck. And I like how jennifer lopez and beyonce and scarlette johnhason have curves and I hope more people don't follow the trend that zero is cute because is not and I was size 0 but my man told me to put more weight on because he liked my curves before. And I think I feel better being on curvy side.
I am actually a size 00 in many jeans in many stores. I am not unhealthy or anorexic or I don't even look skinny or unhealthy. I am just naturally that way. No matter how much I eat I don't get bigger. People that wear 0 or 00 don't have to be unhealthy or dangerously skinny with their ribs poking through their skin. I know I am not and I know others who aren't. People who wear those sizes have a small waist, but many don't look unhealthy. Now some people who lose weight so they can be like that DO look unhealthy, but people who are just naturally that way can't help it and I think we look fine.
I don't think its attractive on a girl who is clearly not meant to be a size zero! It depends on your height and all that! I don't think looking like a skeleton is nice at all! Its nice to have an arse and have boobs instead of being straight down but this is a hard thing to talk about because so many people are naturally a size zero! But for those who are not and want to lose weight there goal I believe should definitely not aim to be a size zero as it is unhealthy to be that size depending on your age and height if anyone ever watches documentaries on it you would know there's a lot more to it. I know so many people with eating disorders as I'm sure does everyone and I've had one too and its horrible trying to be so skinny when your not meant to be the length these girls will go to and I was willing to go to basically if you never have been a size zero I don't think you ever should be and if your naturally a size zero and eat healthy then we can't judge you for that! But you can tell the difference in the size zero who is naturally that way and the size zero who is making them self that way as it is very obvious I should know I know people like this
I don't judge attractiveness based on size. I think fit/slim is attractive but what size represents that for any particular girl (and her bone structure) might be very different. A girl who is a smaller size could actually have more pudge on her than one who wears a larger size, and the size difference could be because of height and bone structure. For some girls zero is natural and healthy. I spent a year in Japan, and have a bunch of friends who are about 5'0" and would quite possibly need a belt to hold up a size zero, but are totally healthy and just really extremely petite. On the other hand, even if a girl who was 5'10" starved herself she might never fit a zero around because the bone structure of her hips might not fit anything under a six. She could possibly look anorexic at that size. So, I really don't think the size is the point, being attractive is much more individual than that. As for what I think when I see a really skinny girl -it has only happened twice in my life that I was sure something was wrong without actually knowing the girl in question - I just kinda felt really bad for them, because they are probably so much more insecure than the rest of us and really, I think confidence is infinitely more attractive than the actual shape of your body.
When I walk around campus or down the street and see girls of any body type, I don't know what clothing size they are or how they got to be that size, so I can hardly judge them by it. I am a size 10, and due to the body and bone proportions given to me by genetics, I will probably never be smaller than an 8 even with the world's most intense workout and diet program.
What I can say is that I am disgusted when I go to the store and see clothes that might be too small for starving children in Ethiopia, labeled as a women's size 0 or 00. No one should strive for that if that is not your natural body type; you will only hurt yourself. Seeing those sizes is discouraging to naturally larger-bodied women, and I'm pretty certain that's catering to those girls who try to force themselves to be skinny. It's a product of the modern media saying that you have to be thin to be attractive, which can be extremely frustrating to those of us who will never be as thin as we are told we "should" be. However, there are some people that are just naturally skinny, as Erica said, and more power to them, really. I just hate seeing people starve themselves in a vain attempt to become sexy.
I am also a girl and I do not necessarily agree with you. Saying a size 0 is disgusting is just as judgmental as saying a size 12 is fat. Everyone wants equality in all shapes and sizes, but that goes for thin, average, and overweight people. Everyone can be good looking in their own way. I am a size 1. I do not consider myself gross looking in any way. My whole mom's side of the family is extremely thin. I am proportionate to my body, I eat plenty of food, and I work out just like everyone else. Just because I am a size 1 does not mean I think I am perfect- there are plenty of things I'd love to change. But I think that just because someone is thin, you can not automatically say they are gross looking. It can also depend on height, proportions, and bone structure. Some people just grow to be very skinny.
I can see where you are coming from and I can understand that. But how size 0 is portrayed, which is mainly what I based this question on, is with people who are underweight with ribs, hip bones and other skeletal features showing. I described it as disgusting as I believe that this isn't the way people should be aiming to look, but, unfortunately, many girls are aiming for this figure and, as a result, purposely starving their selves. - 4 months ago
I am a size 0 with a belt but I am 5' 3" and 100 lbs. I am naturally that way, so I agree with you when you talk about proportions and stuff. 6 foot 160 pound person would not be a good size 0, but they could wear a larger size and still look skinny but healthy. - 4 months ago
I USED to be 5'2, size 0 and 99 lbs. But that was when I was a senior in high school. 3 years ago. Now I'm 5'2 114 lbs and size 3. I still look thin and I work out all the time. Some people just can't stay that small. I don't gain or lose any weight. That just goes to show you that people have their own size and shape cut out for them. - 4 months ago
