I am a girl that has been shaving under arms for years but when ever I do I am left with really short hairs that are dark and therefore easy for everyone to see. I want to be able to wear sleevless tops and bikinis now it's summer but I don't feel that comfortable.

Any tips on how to get it smooth as a baby's bum?

Update: I can't wax btw. I am on tablets that make my skin too sensitive.    5 months ago

Nair doesn't work too well with shorter hair. Try shaving with a man's razor and see if that helps something with multiple blades. just be careful more blades can lead to more cuts

The-Dude Use Nair for men. Works like a charm. the chemical used is a protein emulsifiers dose not mater how long the hair is, it will eat off dead skin and live hair follicles. (just don't use it on you balls, LOL) - 5 months ago

Well I had this problem too. And I still do.Nair, Veet, waxing, none of it worked for me. SO I just shaved it off the best I could. Then I wore waterproof/sweat proof foundation under my arms. It covered up the short dark hairs, so no one could see them. I know it sounds weird but it still works for me :). But always carry some foundation with you in case it starts to come off.

nair, veet, nair for men. all work great. or you can pay the money and get it laser removed and never have to work about it again.

If your skin is sensitive, you have to be careful using things like Nair--the first time I used Nair for sensitive skin it burned for days. I liked Veet better, personally. Things like that are good for getting rid of stubble, they don't work as well if the hair is longer.

But when you shave, run the razor under warm water first.
Use shave gel, not just soap.
And you're supposed to throw a razor out after about 10 uses.

I have never had a problem with just shaving. If wax is too much for your skin, Nair might be also. I have always had really sensitive skin so I have never really been able to use Nair even on my legs, much less someplace more sensitive like my pits.

If you want to continue trying with the shaving then the only tips I have are as follows:

1) Get a razor with multiple blades. I have never had a problem with more cuts but then I hardly ever cut myself anymore and haven't cut myself more than once or twice a year for about the last decade, lol.

2) Use shaving cream to help the razor glide, avoid razor burn, and many of the feminine versions have things to moisturize your skin and whatnot.

3) Try not to use hot water. Don't use cold, but use comfortably cool/lukewarm water when you shave. Hotter water tends to make your skin swell a little. You shave with your skin like that and you will get a close shave UNTIL you get out of the water and the puffiness goes down. Then you end up with pretty much instant stubble! YUCK!

I do this and like I said, I have no problems. In fact, I kinda love my pits. At least as much as you can love your armpits, lol. Seriously I have this one guy friend and we have this running joke about how I have the sexiest armpits in the world, lol. (Yeah I'm weird, lol.)

In the summertime I use Nair or something like it. It gets better results than just shaving.

A Girl Answered That's stupid for him to break up with you. NO OFFENSE or anything, but I cut myself and my boyfriend didn't break up with me. He just told me if I do it again that he's gonna kick my ass.

A Girl Asked Would it change his feelings if I stand up for him?
A Girl Answered If he were intelligent, he'd think that you were a pretty incredible person to set aside any hurt feelings and stand up for someone you care about.
