I used to be an emo! I grew up though and realized I didn't look attractive as one. =P

I guess I just liked the whole style. the clothes, the make-up.

But now I just like being myself. I'm Kat. :)

Because they'll find anything to cry about. Well try livin in the third world without food, shelter and clean water.THEN they'll have a reason to cry. We live in quite practically is the best country on this rotatin' rock and then you have idiot whiners who want to cut themselves and jump of cliffs. Hell I say go for it. Population control :)

catgirl9 That was harsh, but I couldn't agree with you more. Some of them think they have the worst life in the world. Their parents fight all the time, their sister is mean to them blah blah blah, but have they ever even been to Africa and see it there? - 5 months ago
DoNt-PaNiC Ok firstly that's actually a little over done. all people have their own problems nad they just find different ways to deal with it. for them, this is something that they find hard for them to deal with and everyone finds things differently and pls stop making africa as an example! its REALLY starting to piss me off. I mean yes africa has its own problems but so does every other freaking country stop making africa sound as if its hopeless. really. get your facts straight.every country has probs - 5 months ago
Answerer I did not single out Africa as an example before you decide to jump to conclusions and no I have not been there. My reference was to other countries I have been at. So perhaps you should get your facts straight. - 5 months ago
DoNt-PaNiC No not you! that catgirl9. - 5 months ago
Answerer Miss 'Panic... That was totally my bad. - 5 months ago

ok well firstly I hate stereotypes but emo is short for emotional. people become "emo" because for them its a way to deal with their problems. everyone deals with it differently and emos deal with it by self mutilation and poetry etc. and just to make one thing straight for these people what they are going through is tough for them so stop saying that they are sad for nothing etc because for them, whatever their problem is, is tough for them. so please get a life. stop making them sound like the scum of the earth they are people too. and even though myself personally don't like what they do, respect them for who they are.

Answerer I am not being mean, and sorry if that's what you think I'm just bringing honest. that's the fact and people always put down people who happen to be emo. its just a way they chose to deal with their problems. - 5 months ago

Its a self-esteem thing. I was reading a book on "Self-esteem" a while back and the idea of people becoming "emo" or "scene" came up and it;s because people who do chose to become "emo" don't fit in with the normal people ( whether it be thier peers being good looking, smarter, or "cooler"). The "emo" people make thier own status to blend in with the people they can feel comfortable around. It helps their mind set and they tend to stop caring about what others have to say.
