Do you have acne?

Question

Does it bother you? Does it affect your confidence?

I don't have much, but it seems like a new pimple always pops up once one disappears. Some feel like they've been there forever. You can't really see anything unless you are like an inch away from my face. It affects me a lot.

Just wondering if other people are like me. It seems like most of the people I see have picture perfect skin.

Would you care if your partner had acne?

The crazy thing is that I had no acne until about 3 years ago & I'm 35! I never had it in high school or all those years! I attribute it to stress & peer pressure! I never had that in high school, but I have that in the band I'm with, which I joined, coincidentally, 3 years ago!

At any rate, yeah, sometimes it bothers me. Because, like this girl that I like in the band noticed me breaking out like crazy, and once it was so bad that I actually had to slice open a pimple above my eyebrow that would not pop because it hurt so bad and was so big! So, needless to say, I had to wear a bandaide on my head because it was so gross looking and kept bleeding and oozing! Yuck! She, of course, had to ask me what was wrong with my head. I told her that I had a cut. Instead of just leaving it at that, she asked me if it was a pimple! I was so embarrassed! I just said, "yeah," very sheepishly and in a kind of irritated voice. But, I wasn't irritated with her. I was irritated with the stupid pimple! It was definitely not the way that I wanted to catch her attention!

No, I don't think it would bother me if my girlfriend had acne unless it was really bad or something. Then I might be kind of grossed out if it was, depending on where it was I guess.

Do razor bumps count? My face itself pretty clear. I get the occasional one here and there, but I do have some razor bumps, not a lot but a few, underneath my chin and on my neck that just will not go away. I've used razor blades, electric shavers, wet shave, dry shave, it doesn't matter. I cannot get rid of my razor bumps.

I know exactly how you feel though. I used to get really self conscious about my skin, mostly the razor bumps. The women I've been with haven't said one thing about my skin though, so I don't think it matters much to them. I think everyone else has that same feeling that you can see everything when you are an inch away because you are probably looking in a mirror which maginfies eerything on your face. So the all the pimples you see in a mirror are bigger than what they really are.

We're human, aka, imperfect. I do get the occasional break-out, and of course it bothers me until it's disappeared. BIG TIP, do not push on your break-outs. it only bruises the skin and can make for some scarring. honestly, I recommend just buying some Dial Hand-Soap and washing your face with it every night with some warm water. go to either a dermatologist or next doctor's check-up mention your problem with the acne, they'll prescribe you some amazing drying cream, go pick up your prescription, and after you've washed your face with the dial soap, dab on the cream in your broken-out spots. try not to touch your face a lot, hands on face = break out. The Dial-Soap and prescribed acne cream have worked WONDERS. it's really amazing, try it ;)

everybody has acne some point in time. I have acne too and it leaves terrible scares but to tell you the truth I'm starting to get over it as I get older... my partner doesn't mind a pimple here and there  because really it makes me seem more real and human and that's what people really want. there are a lot of great acne medicinces out there even over the counter ones work great.. all I know is if the person judges you by the look of ur skin at that time period then they aren't wurth it. but I know its easier said than done.

I used to have it pretty bad, not as bad as I see a lot of people and it used to really bother me. I don't think it effected my confidence, I've always been a really confident person. But I tried everything to make it go away, Proactive, you name it. None of it worked. Until I started taking birth control. I'll be honest, I was just takin it to avoid becoming prego, but it really cleared up my skin. Now I'm always on it, even if I'm not with a guy, because once I stop takin it my acne comes back. The doctors say it's because my testosterone levels are high and my estrogen levels are too low. Figures! :-)

I had acne when I was in my younger grades. It influenced me a lot. I already had a poor self confidence, and acne made me want to hide in a shell. I was always afraid that people would be looking at my acne and thinking I was the most homely person alive. Finally, my acne has cleared up, although I still get the odd pimple. Just remember, that people do not hate you or avoid you for having acne, it is how you feel about yourself that really counts. If you have a pimple here and there yet smile, and show everyone how happy you are, the world will shine back at you. The small pimple will be insignificant. This happened to me when I had bad acne, I was having a great time playing cards with my friends, and a guy stranger smiled back. He was more influenced by my happy attitude, then my acne. Just remember that, and everyone will see your beauty. :)

Well I'm not gonna lie and say my skins perfect but it's not too bad. I'm 18 and still get spots but a lot of mine are to do with diet, whether or not I wash my make up off, and most of all the time of the month. Bust most days I wear make up which covers most off it so it doesn't affect my confidence unless it's reeeally bad.

ewwwe. pizza face! >_< you know what, I used to have bad acne, but once I got the meds and creams, they all went away. after that, just use like neutrogena or clearacil. suprisingly my ex had a lot of acne, but was totally hot! I guess I just liked his body alot, ne ways. na, its embarrasing, but you'll get out of it.

i really have had almost perfect skin till this year. its all a matter of stress to me, and with high school soccer and all these driving courses going on I am way stresses. especially with schol starting. so I have been breakin out lately, but not a lot. but to get rid of it I have so advice. wash face day and night or after you sweat, use a good face lotion and then put lavander oil on the acne skin and stuff. trust me it works. also eat healthy, that has a lot to do with what your skin does!

i miss my all-clear face days. but I'm not perfect I do get little breakouts here and there. I have bangs so I get to hide them! when I usually break-out there not way OUT-THERE pimples. just small ones. so it really doesn't affect my confidence. my boyfriend had mildly acne since he was in high school with me. but he started using proactiv.it really works.now I'm jealous of his skin! lol.

call me shallow, but I wouldn't want like pizza face to date me.

yes I have some acne. I went to a dermatologist and it helped a lot but I still have some pimples that don't really get red they're just there. But as far as my partner having acne, unless it's really extreme, I hardly even notice. It's so common for guys. Especially because you can't cover it up with makeup like us girls. By what you're saying about your acne, I probably wouldn't even notice you had it!

It depends on the extent. Some acne makes the person unattractive but if my partner just had a breakout or so, it wouldn't bother me at all. I break out too although I am a little more self-conscious when that happens and I have to go out. I don't let it affect my confidence. I might hesitate initially but once I get going, I don't even think about it. She is probably more insecure about herself than me anyway.

I had really bad acne when I was 15/16. the scars are just now starting to clear up. I'm still a little self-conscious about them.

Now, I tend to break out when I'm on my period. It's getting better with time, but it's still annoying.

yes, I get occasional acne, and I wouldn't care if my partner had some zits here and there. and I usually like the guys who have mildly healthy skin, because sometimes it affects my confidence when I'm with a guy who looks a lot better than me

i've been using proactiv on my face for about 4 or 5 months now and believe me, it's worth the price. I still get an occasional zit, but only if I forget to wash my face. you gotta be faithfull to the system to see results, but I'd recomend it to anyone. and WTF? pizza face? your really helpin ppl's self confidence.

I never really had acne.  I have dry skin on my face so all I have to do is put lotion on it and it looks pretty good.  I count myself lucky haha

I've had acne since like 14 years of age, I'm 19 now. I have moderate acne, but it seems to have gotten a little better recently. It definitely lowers my confidence.

I rarely have it, but sometimes I'll randomly get three or four and such. Usually, though, my skin is nice and clear. I think about people noticing it, but I don't really care that much.
