I prefer long hair on girls if it is healthy partly because it is a nice part of her body (and a sign of health, like you have said).
However, girls who are not fans of having their hair long or don't believe that long hair is a feminine feature aren't so hot for me because a girl's interest on having her hair much longer than guys' hair (to more detail, please look at my opinion in that question: www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q652489-why-do-guys-prefer-girls-with-long-hair-as-opposed)
My fantasy is to have a very long-haired girlfriend who is so interested on having her hair longer that she will never cut her hair shorter (just the ends) and she regularly shaves my head for preventing it from growing.
In my fantasy she often plays some pranks on me that make me remember that her hair is much longer than mine and try to make me jealous about it. For example: wetting me by wringing out her hair on me when she goes out of a swimming pool.
In the other hand, if I fell in love of a short-haired girl, I would prefer her not to grow it longer, because she would have already evidence me that she isn't a fan of long hair and she would never be for me as hot as if she was a fan of long hair.
P. D: I don't find Marilyn Monroe such a hot girl although she has been a sex symbol, just my opinion.
A girl can be hot AND have short hair, but it's pretty rare that a girl is hot BECAUSE she has short hair. Put another way, the VAST majority of girls look more attractive to guys if they have longer hair.
Take a look at some of the cases you've cited in your links. Marilyn Monroe for example. Have you EVER heard, "yeah, she's hot because of that short haircut?" I doubt it. You probably DID hear, "yeah, she's hot because of those banging curves!"
If a girl is ridiculously hot she can get away with having shorter hair. It doesn't mean she's better off for having shorter hair.
I think Mayilyn got away with having short hair because she had such a beautiful face. Other than that, most guys prefer long hair on a woman as it is sexually appealing to them.

And it doesn't have to be extreamly long, it's fine touching your shoulders.

Short hair is sexy but sometimes I've seen girls that don't look feminine anymore because of it, long hair is sexier just because it flows down to your shoulders, a girl combing or straightening her her long hair can be really nice and when it's messy from sex or waking up it looks sexy to me
Cause it's just hot. It's also always been a sign of dishonor in every culture for a woman to have short hair. I don't really find any of those women attractive either.
Some girls can be attractive with shorter hair, but their is something about women with longer hair. I guess because it's something I associate with women and femininity.
Personally I prefer long hair because I love to play with it and when it dangles over me and tickles my face I love it...<3 lol

I personally love long hair because it's fun to play with whether you are doing something sexual, or just cuddling. But that's just me.
