Why doesn't he ask me out already? We're already friends, why not something more?

Well, I guess I'll give you the run down of where this friendship started.

School started back in late August, I met him in my Academy class. Our last names are close, so we ended up sitting next to each other. As the days passed, we eventually warmed up to each other and stared to talk, about 6 days into school, he asked to hold my phone. He sent him self a text, basically stealing my number. I didn't mind, but it was a bit odd. I had already sized him up, but didn't develop a crush just yet. He's a bit peculiar, but he's cool.

Anyways, the crush on my end started when he called me that same evening. I wondered forever if him stealing my number was a sign that he liked me. I don't remember what he called for, but I was on a cloud. So, I started to hang out with him for lunch, and we went off campus alone for the first time. It was a little uncomfortable, but we lived, all the while wondering what to say and where to look. Typical, inexperienced teens. Now it's kinda normal when we go out to lunch.

But , we've hung out a lot since all of this. This was in the beginning of our friendship. We've gone out to the beach, to the mall, and swimming, just me and him. I really like this guy, but I don't know what to do. But our relationship has become a bit more hands on in recent weeks. I pulls me onto his lap during lunch, he always trying to grab my boobs, and he smacks my ass. I know this must sound pretty trashy, but I don't mind him doing it. I grab his ass all the time, and he likes it. It's always in a playful way. And I only let him do it, but of course I pretend like I'm trying to stop him. Haha.

He started doing the sweetest things recently. Whenever he sees me walking, he'll run up and put his arm around my shoulders. I love it, but I don't really let him know that. And one day when we were walking to the bus stop, he took my hand and laced our fingers. We walked like that for a while. Even crossed the street like that.

After school, we have to wait for a street bus for an hour. We spend that time together, too. So, everyday, we sit together on the ground, sharing earphones, playing around. Today, we were a bit later getting there, so these other people took our usual spot. So, we sat on the other side, just across from where we usually sit. After shifting through lots of positions, he ended up laying on his back, head on my thigh. I played with his face and his tummy.

It looked like we were a couple. This wasn't anything explicit or trashy. It was simple cuddling. There weren't many words during this. I think that he was enjoying it. A guy from my math class walked by and slowed down to look. I guess people don't see many couples like us. (I'm black and he's white) But we stayed like that until the bus came. When we got on, we still didn't talk. When I got off, he just said, "See you later."

So, after reading all this, where is this going? Is he ever going to ask me to be his girlfriend? Does he really like me?
