  • we go after people, we normally wouldn't, to fill a void left by our previous loved. you know it and i know it that the person youve just chosen, is really just a space filler

    • But what if you hurt the other person because you still love your ex?

    • but you don't love your ex. you're ex's, that's the point. you realized you were no good for each other. life doesn't move backwards

Most Helpful Girl

  • Because you could end up hurting the new person. You may not actually have feelings for them, but at least being with someone, you aren't alone. But once you finally cope, recognize, and accept that your former relationship is no more, you may no longer have a use for the new person. Then that person is hurt. You have officially contributed to a cycle of unnecessary pain in doing this.

  • Because emotions are every where and one needs to regain stability and energy to be ready in for a new relationship and because one doesn't want to the bad stuff of the old relationship to be brought over to the new relationship.

What Girls Said 2

  • If you enter a new relationship still hung up on someone else, you'll bring all of that previous emotional baggage with you, and essentially run the risk of sabotaging your NEW relationship.

  • You really just have to take some time to yourself and let yourself process the situation by going through the five stages of grief because even though it wasn't a loss of life, it was a loss. You have to have the self-discipline to not get involved with someone until you have fully, completely finished the process of healing.
