Have A First Date But Not Sure What To Do?

Looking for great first date ideas? Having trouble finding relationships that work? Had too many first dates from hell? Look no further for some help with what can be a tricky situation, the first date. Read on for first date ideas that can help remove the initial awkwardness.

The best of piece advice for a first date is to try and relax. The more nervous you get, the more tongue tied, and before you know it, you can barely string 2 words together. The more anxious you are to impress the hottie the worse it gets. Your date has agreed to meet you, so they must be a little interested on some level. So relax, you are not deciding to get married, it's the first date.

Here are some first date ideas that are always hard to beat:

Coffee or a drink. Arranging to meet for a coffee or a drink can be an excellent first date idea if you are at all unsure about how it's all going to go. If the date is a disaster, or you are sitting there going "What was I thinking?" or "I didn't think I'd had that much too drink", it is perfectly acceptable to finish up the drink and politely excuse yourself. You don't have to be stuck for hours over a dinner table with someone you have nothing in common with, struggling for something to say.

If the date is going really well, you can always have another drink or hang around for a meal.

Movies. Going to the movies is a smart first date idea for anyone who is a bit shy. You won't have to speak at all while the film is running. Once the movie is finished you should at least have that to talk about. Most people are more relaxed at the thought of going to the movies as a first date. Girls tend to feel a bit safer, especially if they don't know you well. A more relaxed first date has a much better chance of succeeding.

Stranger danger. As we were just saying, girls can be a bit tentative about going out with a stranger. Heightened publicity about date rape and other tragic outcomes has left most girls more than a little leery about just going anywhere on a first date. Select a public place that is busy so that she can feel safe. This is also a smart first date idea for the guys. You don't really know yet that she is not a serial stalker. You should both be thinking about personal safety on a first date. Don't leave yourself open to untrue accusations. Don't place yourself in dangerous situations.

Alcohol. It can be tempting to have a strong drink before the date for a bit of courage and to relax yourself. Try not to. Firstly, you don't want your date thinking you might have substance abuse problems. Secondly, once you have potentially had a few more drinks on the date, you could be getting pretty messy.

Comfort zone. It is not a great first date idea to totally leave your comfort zone. If your date suggests horse riding, for example, and you have a phobia or allergy of horses, then the date is going to be doomed from the start. Suggest an alternative if the first date sounds like hell before you even get there.

Be yourself. The best advice for a first date is to have fun and be yourself. There is no point trying to be someone or something that you are not. If your date doesn't like you the way you are, well then, that's fine. There are plenty of other singles out there.

Use these first date ideas to get yourself out of first date hell. Remember the advice: relax, have fun, stay safe. A great first date could mean no more first dates!
