Entry Title MySpace horror stories? Not always. |

After swearing up and down for years that I wouldn't meet someone on MySpace (just because of all the horror stories I'd heard from friends), it's actually how I met the woman I dated this year.
Last November, I was doing research for a freelance story I was writing, and happened to stumble across the website of a young woman in my town who sold her own artwork. Apart from her portfolio, she had a few pictures of herself on there too, and I thought she was attractive. So I sent her a message about her artwork first, then planned to continue the conversation from there. I never did get a response from her, so I commended myself for making the attempt and moved on.
Then in April of this year, she randomly commented on some of my profile pictures and called me "very handsome" on one of them. I got in touch with her after that, and we dated until just recently. Though things didn't work out between us (there was too much of a clash in personalities...I'm much more outgoing than she was), she's still a real sweetheart - plus the experience changed my opinions on the possibility of meeting someone special online.
