Last year my boyfriend came home feb.13 but did not tell me. The next morning I woke up with him in my bed and freaked out!!!! It was the best day ever. We ended up going to a fondue restaurant (soooo much fun) then going to a private concert where he played a video of the first day he meet me. He said he wanted to record how he felt that day because he was sure I was the one he was going to be with for the rest of his life. Then there was three more video clips he had of him talking about me. This all ended with him down on one knee and my whole family appearing. He handed me a homemade fortune cookie reading Inside "WILL YOU MERRY ME" It was so perfect I keep looking to find what movie his idea came from. We got married the following Valentines Day. I am now proud to call him my husband and we are expecting are first child together.

During my first pregnancy, I was super excited! My husband wasn't as excited. He complained that I read too many pregnancy books and said all I talked about was "Baby, baby, baby!" I think he may have been a little jealous because he wasn't the center of attention anymore! As the baby grew inside me and I felt all the kicks and hiccups, I couldn't be happier. I was a little concerned about my husband, though. The day I delivered was incredible. The excitement in the air (in between the painful contractions) was magical! After my son was born, they placed him on my chest. I looked up at my husband and saw tears streaming down his cheeks. He said "That's my son" and got all choked up. He has been super dad ever since and I don't think he could love our little man any more than he does. There are many great moments in our time together, but I will never forget the most romantic moment in my life when I looked up at the new daddy! (It was only a few days before Valentine's day, so that was our Valentines) I am pregnant again and he talks to my belly daily! I think he is more in tune to this pregnancy than I am!

I hate Valentines day with a passion or so I did. one of my best guys friends know this and we always joked about how bitter I was on thins day. I received little notes the whole week before valentines day saying the sweetest things, I had never had a secret admire and it was awesome to feel that someone out there really had a thing for you. the day before valentines day I got this huge thing of daisies not roses(daisies are my favorite flower) and a note saying come dressed and gave directions and a time for the next night. I was a bit aprohencive about going because I mean come on who knows who this person could be but I did. I got all dressed up putting my feeling aside for this horrible holiday. when I got there all I saw was a candle lit table with this giant thing of flowers and a teddy with a note that said still feeling bitter, out came my friend with a huge smile on his face and we had dinner and laughed all night long. now its tradition that we get together the week of valentines and hangout like we did that night. I love valentines now.

I was dating this girl since the beginning of January and it was the day before Valentine's Day. We had a fight and didn't speak to each other the rest of the day. I wasn't going to get to see her on Valentine's Day because I had a tennis tournament and it was on a weekend. I called my coach and told him something came up and I couldn't show up to the tournament. I went out, bought a couple of roses, a card, and a red teddy bear that says "I love you". I went to her house, rang the doorbell and her mom answered. I asked to speak with *her* and her mom kinda looked at me with a smug look. She came to the door and asked what I was doing there, why I wasn't at my tournament. I got on one knee and recited an apology in Spanish (I'm white and she's Mexican) [(saying how much you mean to me and I would do anything for your love, you're more important to me than that stupid tennis tournament)], gave her the rose, the teddy bear, and the card. She read the card and looked at me, almost in tears she dropped the things I had brought her and gave me the biggest kiss I ever got from her. I ended up staying at her house the rest of the day. And if you're wondering...she had gotten me a card and a cute little Monkey that said I love you.

Changing hairstyles has always been my thing. One week you'll see me in blond, and the next I'll be rocking purple. One day, out of randomness, I decided, "I'm going to shave my head!" And then I did, coincidentally on Valentine's Day.

I volunteer at an afterschool program on the weekdays. It's a pretty big program and I haven't had the opportunity to get to know the rest of the volunteers. But that day, everyone seemed to have something to say to me. Most were of shock. I was waiting for the bus to go home that day, and Justin, another volunteer, was waiting there too. He walked up to me, stared at my head, and laughed. It must have been my expression, because he responded, "Don't take it to offense! I think it's pretty cool if a girl can shave her head and still look good!"

Since then, we've become best friends. As the year went on, slowly, my hair grew back out. Time passed really fast, and before I knew it, it was Valentine's Day of 2008. Justin didn't come to the program that day so I was making Valentine's Day arts and crafts with the kids by myself. Then suddenly, one of the kids walked up to me and gave me a heart-shaped note with a clue on it. I followed the clue, which led me to another heart-shaped note, which led me to another, and then another. I finally arrived to the bus-stop where Justin and I first met.

He smiled at me and said, "Don't shave your head again." I laughed, "Why?"

"Because every inch of your hair represents my life since I've met you. You've changed me into a better person, and I love you." Truth is, I have had feelings for Justin for awhile, but I didn't know he felt that way about me.

Before I could respond, he said to me, "I'm going to hop on the next bus. If you feel the same way...or if you want to give us a chance, come with me. I don't know where it's going to take us, but come with me, please."

We ended up at the pier that night. And the next night, we were at the amusement park. And the next, we were at the beach. I'm glad I took his hand that night on the bus stop. It's only taken me to wonderful and happy places.

The day started with me driving to my girlfriends house and waking her up with a dozen pink roses (pink is her favorite color). After some quick cuddling, I took her out to our favorite breakfast place. Since the local GAP store did not have the item she wanted, I drove her to the next city 30 minutes away. I kept where we were going a secret the entire time to purchase the particular item she wanted. She had some weird fascination with Disney music, so on the ride we listened to a mix I had created of her favorite Disney songs. After returning from our short trip, we exchanged some other little gifts we had bought for each other. We then cuddled on the couch and watched TV and movies. For dinner, we decided to cook together. Being in high school neither of us had much experience, but it turned out ok. After dinner, we returned to the couch to cuddle for the rest of the night.

Me and my boyfriend have been in a long distance relationship. Before that, we lived right across the street from me and we'd see him every day at school over his house or mine, or anywhere else. We were best friends for awhile before we started dating.

So entering a long distance relationship was very hard. Your used to seeing that person everyday.

We'll we talked on the phone every night. One night, he brought up Valentines Day. I told him that I didn't like the holiday. Which I really don't because I've never had a boyfriend on that day. He told me that he'd still send me something in the mail. I insisted that he didn't, but he said he would.

Valentines Day arrived. I had school that day. I hated all the balloons people got from their boyfriend or girlfriend, the chocolates, the presents, everything. I just wanted my boyfriend with me right then. I didn't want the balloons or the presents. I just wanted to see him again.

The day goes by slowly. In my 7th period, I sit next to a window that is in the front of the school. I look to see if one of my best friends, Kyle, is there at the end of the day. When I see his car, I know that I'm getting a ride home from him. I see his car pull up and park, waiting for the bell to ring so that I can meet him.

The bell rings and I walk to his car sluggishly. I'm looking down, still bummed about the stupid holiday. But, when I looked at up from the ground and looked next to Kyle's car, I saw my boyfriend right there waiting for me.

I couldn't believe it. At first I really thought I had gone crazy. But I didn't. He was really right in front of me! I ran to him and hugged him. I gave him a million kisses because I wanted to make sure I was really hugging and kissing him. Since we were still at school, some student were walking past us. Some stopped and clapped at us or just stared and smiled. It was somewhat embarrassing, but I was so happy.

We finally got into Kyle's car and he asked me, "Are you ready for a great day, baby?"
And I just smiled because I thought to myself "I'll like Valentines Day, just for this year."

Two days had gone by since last checking my school mailbox. The clerk at the window, about to close up for the afternoon, noticed me as I fiddled clumsily with the persistent combination lock.
"May I help you, miss?"
Startled, I replied nervously, "No...no, thank you."
"Here. Give me your student ID and box number; I'll gladly give you your mail."
I did as he said, only to learn that I hadn’t received any mail. A relief, I decided, that Mr. Johansson had forgotten to give me a tardy slip for arriving 10 minutes late to AP US History. I made my way for the door.
“Miss,” he called after me. “You seem to have a package…”
A package? But from whom?
He handed me the cumbersome parcel with a puzzled look on his face to mirror my own bewilderment. “Day students rarely receive packages through the campus mail, you know,” he observed. I nodded shyly, and thanked him.
Making a swift dart for the girls’ bathroom to dismantle the package, I could feel the blood rising into my porcelain cheeks. The box smelled strongly of musky cologne, and the tape was bound half-assed.
Was this from a man?
I pried it open; nestled within heaps of rose-colored tissue paper were 100 Hershey's Kisses: each morsel swathed in their characteristic crimson foil. .
I inspected the box for a return address or evidence of the sender. No luck.
Equally mysterious was the note I found, reading: “Sorry I can’t be there in-person for the real thing, but some chocolate ones to get you through.”
Could this have been sent to someone else? Surely, the clerk must have read my name wrong. I was not the only Karly at the school, after all…and certainly not the recipient of this kind of package!
I closed the box quickly as if I had seen something I shouldn't have. I began jogging toward the mailroom once more, wanting to get there before he left.
Prior to doing so, however, I noticed the name. Clearly, this box had been intended for me and only me. With my full name -- first, middle, last, and playful early-childhood nickname -- it could not belong to anyone else.
By whom was this sent? A secret admirer? A friend, hoping to get a rise out of me? How many people have I kept contact with who call me Moose? My thoughts (and heart rate) raced.
It was time to return home. A 16 year-old day student at a New England prep school, I barely had time to balance my academic schedule...never mind get my license! I still relied on my mother for transportation.
I got into her car, concealing the box as best I could with my jacket. We were on our way to my church a few towns over for the Saturday vigil.
The usual cantors gone for the weekend, I was the leader in song for all four masses. But how could I concentrate on the music!?
Halfway through the recessional hymn, an unexpected visitor appeared in the choir loft. The organist and I shared a perplexed look.
I finished singing and looked over to the tall, bulky figure that was lurking near the coat rack. Before I could say anything, he greeted me with a warm embrace. “And she sings, too…” He grinned as I looked up at him.
Was this really him? It had been over two years since we went our separate ways to high school, each to different preparatory academies in the state.
“I had a feeling you’d be here,” he smiled, proud of himself for having tracked me down.
So confused, I was unable to articulate something intelligible.
As we left the church, I began idle, uneasy conversation, keeping myself from asking the real questions.
How did he know I was here? Why does he care? And when, in God's name, did he become so irresistibly good-looking?
He took my hand and guided me to the parking lot. “Allow me take you for ice cream? It’s just around the block,” he pleaded, with a tinge of hope in his voice.
We walked to the neighborhood ice cream parlor, his hand bumping mine every so often. As random and surreal as it all was, it seemed natural to be with him. The conversation flowed without pause; we had so much to catch up on, as one might imagine.
Just as charming as I had remembered.
We stopped before entering. Only and inch away from each other, I could feel his body warmth. His cologne was familiar, but his eyes were not. Were they always quite that blue?
“Umm…why…how…pl…” I tried to formulate my questions. My voice was timid and unsteady.
“Because,” he said softly with a playful smirk. “Chocolate kisses are SO not the best kind.”
He cupped my cheek in his hand and leaned it. Every hair on the back of my neck stood on end. His lips met mine with unmatched tenderness. My very first kiss.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Moose. Be mine?”

I sat there waiting for my friends while I was eating at kennywood, when all of the sudden, my friend matt walks up to me and asks me if I'd want to ride the 1 ride that I've never ridden before and was pretty scared to ride. Me being an idiot said yes. It was beginning to get dark, and so all the lights came on in the city, and it made this perfect. I had liked matt since the 6th grade. We got to the ride, and I started to have a panic attack, and I asked him if he really wanted me to ride this, and he told me 'only if you want to', and I agreed to go. So we get to about 160 feet in the air and I get scared again, and I told I'm I was scared again, and he said he'd hold my hand and I was obviously okay. We were at the top then, and there were two clicks and then this ride fell to the ground. I heard the first click, and but I didn't hear the second, and I looked over at matt, and he looked up at me "I've been meaning to tell you.." he said laughing. "valerie, I love you." But as soon as he said it, I heard the second click closed my eyes, and we were on the ground. I looked over at him and I asked.. "did that just happen?" And he just nodded and kissed me. That valentine's day had made my life so perfect.

I didn't want a fairy tale wedding. The Justice of Peace was fine for me - good steak and lobster dinner, maybe a night at a nice hotel for the "honeymoon". It was enough that love found me - I didn't need to announce it to the world with grand gestures. A quiet "I do", a simple kiss, a night together as husband and wife. That wasn't enough for my husband. He planned my wedding behind my back for 3 months - and unfurled it before me like a red carpet inviting royalty.
I woke up on my wedding day to my mother, my two best friends and my sister crowding in my bedroom. I was confused because they all lived far away from me - what were they doing there? The white stretch limo was waiting out front to whisk us away for pampering and make up for the bride and bridesmaids. I saw my dress for the first time in the spa dressing room. Yards of white satin, a creamy frothing concoction fit for a princess. Perfectly fit for me.
To the botanical gardens where 100 of my closest friends, co workers and family were waiting. I was speechless - absolutely speechless. We wed in the cold February morning, surrounded by love, brought together by love - all for me as a gift from my husband.
The reception lasted until morning, though my husband and I weren't there to enjoy it. We had the honeymoon suite at the hotel.
THEN he whisked me off to Vegas the next day for our honeymoon.
It was the most exhilarating time of my life. My life, in those moments, was a fairy tale come true.
That will forever be the best experience of my life.

It was 8pm. I was standing outside in the cold winter of February for what seemed to be another depressing valentines day. I was waiting for a taxi to drive me home when I saw him. He was sitting there alone on a bench holding what appeared to be a dozen red roses (my favorite flowers).I quickly turned around as I didn't want him to see I was watching him. I couldn't help it, I couldn't take my eyes off him. He was breath taking. My legs started to become tired from standing so I decided that I would sit down next to him. After that we started to talk we just talked and laughed and then he started to look sad. He told me he had been dumped by his girlfriend. He had made reservations for two, bought roses and champagne (he had planned it weeks ago and he thought she would turn up).It seemed a stupid thing to do at the time go on a date with a man I barely knew but I trusted him. There was an instant connection between us. He took me out to dinner, we drank champagne and he gave me roses. I ended up kissing his cool succulent lips. As my eyelids closed I caught a glimpse of heaven. If this was heaven. I thought to myself that I would love to relive this night over and over again. As he drove me home I told him I didn't know how to thank him. He told me I could start by going out with him again.

I was walking along the sand by the gentle surf of the Gulf of Mexico. Here, it is said, they have the most glorious sunsets and, if you gaze out onto the waters, it seems like The Crimson Tide ebbs gently out to the horizon. This is quite unlike the Red Tide that besieges our shores spontaneously and sporadically with its horrendous smell and destruction of fish and plants. Nonetheless, as I watched this particular sunset on Wednesday, February 13, (or at least I plan to do so), I heard the laughter of several small children and their sweet voices chanting, "Red Rover, Red Rover, please send Tevor over." I smiled. Life couldn't be better.Their parents (at least I assumed it was their parents) sat snuggling in pairs close together not far away from them. One of their fathers had a guitar and began strumming, "Red River Valley."Thankfully, it was a short rendition as I was on vacation and needed the peace and quiet.

I relished the sunsets here on the Key and somehow that song was quite disturbing, an annoying distraction. Usually the beach is deserted at this time of year except for a few souls drawn to the water and white sand. Suddenly, someone caught my eye. Up the beach I noticed a woman strolling with a red gauze dress that flowed gently in the breeze. As she neared, she tossed her long dark hair and then I felt my heart thumping. Her beautiful blue eyes met mine. Who was this Lady in Red? She smiled and her pearly whites did me in. "H..h..hello," I said, sounding like I stuttered. "I haven't seen you here before. On vacation?" "Why no," she replied with a hint of a twinkling laugh in her voice. "I live up the beach" and she turned and pointed back towards the end of the isle. "Well, you certainly have beautiful sunsets here," I complimented her as though she was responsible for them. "Yes, we do. We're known for them," she smiled again and began walking. I walked along side her. She didn't seem to mind. "My name is Matt, Mattbaby, but you can just call me Matt," I introduced myself. "And you are?" "Sunshine. Just call me Sunshine. All my friends do," she answered sweetly. "Sunshine, I was thinking," I said. "After this walk, would you like to join me at the new Cafe on the Beach that just opened for a cup of something?" She stopped, thought a moment, and then said that she'd like that.

Just then, without warning, one of the children wearing a tee shirt that had The Boston Red Sox written on it came flying by us, almost barreling through us. That's when we made our exit towards the cafe. Besides the sun was down and its brightness had left. As we were seated at a booth overlooking the water, I asked Sunshine what she had planned for the next day. "I'll think about that tomorrow," she said in a voice exactly like Scarlett O'Hara. The thought of "love at first sight" went through my mind at that, and we spent hours at the cafe talking and getting to know one another. I was thinking I was a very lucky man. I didn't realize how lucky until Sunshine suggested I catch the sunrise sometime as they were just as sublime as the sunsets. I told her I would that very morning for it was already the wee hours of Thursday, February 14, Valentine's Day.

I took a blanket out of my car for it was quite chilly by then. Sunshine shyly asked, "Do you have one of those for me?" "Of course!" I told her as I could barely contain myself. I thought my heart would burst! So here we sit, Matt and Sunshine, on Valentine's Day in the early morning, awaiting a gorgeous Red Dawn. We'll see it, I'm sure..well, at least I think we will...but we're too busy at the moment getting acquainted on a deeper level :) .

I take Valentine's very serious. It took me about eleven months to set-up the ultimate V-day. The following is that story, of that day.

I searched the internet for the better part of six months, quite a while. I was searching for a cottage to rent in the mountains, yes, in February. I finally found one in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It was perfect. I rented it twice. The weekend before V-day, and the weekend of V-day.

The weekend before, I went up and completely decorated the entire cabin. Trouble was, I wasn't really thinking of what would happen during the next week with all the stuff up there. But, I was already on my way home, so I pretty much had no choice but to hope all was well. But more about that later.

Before I went up to the cabin I prepared a CD, written and composed by me. That took a long time, really long. Many songs had revisions, but in the end I was happy with the product. I even prepared love letters that I could hide up at the cabin. And I bought candles, chocolate, romance music; to say that I was prepared is an under statement.

But life is funny, and sometimes what we plan doesn't always happen.

There was a blizzard that V-day weekend. But I told her I had a surprise for her, so we went anyway. And we were so close, but the weather was so bad, I had to pull over at a hotel for the night. So, cabin plan ruined. Worse yet, I forgot the CD, and the supplies were up at the cabin.

We spent the next day, V-day, snowed in at the hotel. That whole weekend we stayed in bed watching movies that I had brought, meant for the cabin. We barely left the room. It was the best Valentine's Day I've ever had.

Oh, and the cabin, funny story. All the flowers decomposed and the place smelt horrible. I even got my money back!

I left a teddy bear with a card in its arms on every step up to the top of the stairs. When my Girlfriend got home, she slowly followed the cards upstairs reading each one. Each card had a nice message and a letter starting with I. The letters spelled I LOVE YOU. When she got to the top of the stairs, I repeated the message she just collected from the cards. I then kissed her softly on the lips and handed her a small wrapped gift. She opened it to find a beautiful white gold/diamond necklace. She was shocked and grabbed me and started kissing me. I then drove her to the restaurant of her choice. we ate a delicious dinner then I ordered a specially made desert that I had asked to be prepared when we got there. I gave her the first bite from my fork. We spent the rest of the time there looking into each others eyes smiling and talking about how we liked each other so much. I then drove us back to her place. She was so happy with me that she grabbed me and started passionately kissing me right inside the door. We then barely made it to the living room where we proceeded to have some of the best Sex I have ever experienced. After that we went to bed, cuddled and laid there talking for a bit. I then go up and ran her a hot bath with her favorite bath crystals. I gave her a massage in the bath tub for about 30 min. We then want back to bed and she fell asleep in my arms.

He took me to a candle light dinner. He gave me some candy hearts and we laid on the beach and looked at the stars. Then we kissed underneath the moon light. As he took my hand he gave me my Valentines gifts. He gave me a diamond heart necklace, 23real roses and one fake rose. And he told me that he would love me until the last rose died, and to this day we are still together.

I swear that he smelt so good that night and that the look in his eyes as we kissed was the most magical moment ever in my life.

The way he held me, made me fell like no one could harm me and I felt as if he would be next to me until the day I die.

When I got the roses from him and he told me that he loved me until the last one died that's when I knew that we were meant to be forever and that no person in the world would come between me and him.

I had only been dating my boyfriend for about two months by Valentine's Day, so I wasn't expecting much. I would have been happy just spending time with him, watching a movie in his living room, cuddling on the couch like we usually did. What I didn't expect was the evening he had in store for me.
My boyfriend had told me the day before that he was going to make dinner for us at 6:30pm, and that we were going to watch one of my favorite movies afterward. I was upset when he called at 6pm to tell me that there was a change in plans and I wasn't going to be able to come over. I started to complain, and ask him why he was changing the plans, but he told me not to worry, and that he would explain everything when he came over later.
I was confused by the change, and mad that he wouldn't tell me right away what the reasoning behind it was, but I waited for him, hoping nothing had gone wrong for him at home.
I heard a knock on my door at around 7:30pm, and so I went to the door, ready for an explanation of the what had been happening that evening. When I opened the door, however, I forgot just about everything I was angry about because I was taken aback by the image in my doorway.
He had on a pair of cute jeans, a fitted dark green t-shirt (one of my favorites, as it accentuated his good physique), and a black suit jacket. I normally thought he looked good, but that day he looked more like a model than the boy I was used to. When our eyes met, he smiled broadly, and said, "Happy Valentine's Day, sweetie," while he took a beautiful orange rose from behind his back.
He walked me to his car, but before he opened the door for me, he had me put on a blindfold. I was very confused, but did as he asked, and he helped me into the car. The car ride wasn't too long, but the best part was the music he played. He had made a mixed cd of some of my favorite songs, and every time I'd ask where we were going, he said not to worry about it, and to just listen to the music.
After a while, the car stopped, and he helped me out, still blindfolded. He took my arm, told me we were almost there and lead me forward. We stopped, and he walked behind me, putting both hands on my shoulders. "Are you ready?" he asked. I didn't know how to respond, so I just nodded. He took off my blindfold, and in front of me stood a beautiful carriage with two white horses tied to it. There was a friendly looking older man sitting in the driver's seat, and a blanket in the back.
We rode around the park for about half an hour, just cuddling in the back of the carriage, his arm around my shoulder, his other hand holding mine. I spent most of the time with my head down, looking at my rose and listening to his heart, but when I looked up, he would give me the most beautiful smile.
The night had already been great, but it was topped of with him telling me he was the luckiest guy alive and giving me the best kiss of my life.

My girlfriend and I have been together for 3 years now and last year was the most romantic Valentine's Day we've had together. Neither of us have a lot of money right now, being that we are both in college and all (we had been in a long distance relationship for 9 months because I had to go over seas), so last year we decided to get creative, which she ended up really enjoying. My girl friend really likes art so I got one of my art major friends to do an oil painting of her which came out amazing. It looked so professional, and lol I only had to give him 20$, benefits of having nice friends. Neither my girlfriend nor I make a lot. However, she sent me a hand made card and spent some time later that night.... :P Earlier that day I had called her on the way into work. She cried saying it was the best thing that's ever happened to her and that she never expected I would do something like that. That night I got her dinner at her favorite restaurant and we watched her favorite movie back at my place. Being in college, its hard to have an extravagant Valentines Day, but being on a small budget, this ended up working very well.

It was in his time that the Roman Empire was involved in many an un popular war which like all others required many an able man to fight, however these men were not easy to come by as volunteers were rare.

Many a reason were thought to be the culprit for this lack of desire to join the military by society's younger males however it was eventually settled upon by Claudius II that marriage was at fault. Logic being that when men marry they long to stay home and have families as opposed to wanting to go to war and perform their duty to the emperor so it was with this in mind that Claudius II instated a law banning all marriages.

It was from the backdrop that was this injustice that a priest who history would dub Saint Valentine would emerge. It being he who by virtue of performing clandestine weddings came out in defiance of this law which many considered excessive and in defense of those who sought to marry the ones their feelings of romance lead them to. Saint Valentine would go on to perform many a wedding ceremony for couples who were more then grateful at the service he had performed which no other in Rome would dare to.

It happened however that in spite of all the care taken by Saint Valentine in order not to be discovered that word of his deeds spread to Claudius II who upon hearing of this insolence toward his law had Saint Valentine arrested and brought to trial for disobeying his decree. It was in the trial that ensued Saint Valentine's arrest that he was found guilty and ordered to be put to death by clubbing.

This perhaps is the point in our story where Saint Valentine became a legend as it was in the time of his imprisonment that he received several flowers and cards from well wishers and happy couples who had been joined in matrimony thanks to this man who now found himself in prison. It was while behind bars and awaiting his execution that one of the jailers who happened to have an unsighted daughter came to hear of Saint Valentine for he was also known as a man who possessed knowledge in the field of medicine.

It was precisely this Jailer (name not recorded by history) who pleaded with Saint Valentine to do what ever was in his power so that his daughter might cease to be sightlessness. Saint Valentine naturally being one whose temperament was generous did not refuse, taking this girl in to his medical treatment whose name is also unknown to the pages of history. It coming about from these daily visits with the intent of being cured that feelings of affection developed between this young lady and Saint Valentine, who many suspected had fallen in love. Such being the closeness of their relationship which though never turned physical saw them share the most intimate aspects of their passion.

The most romantic thing I ever did for my boyfriend (now husband) was to create a Valentine that let him know I was thinking of him all day long. I created eight hand made Valentine cards with stickers, lacy doilies, scrapbook materials, and fancy edged scissors, the result was that they were all very cute and very “Valentiney.” I was sure to make each one as different as possible so they weren’t all boring folded in half cards. It took a lot of time, and it showed in the end product.

Then I arranged for one of his co-workers to “mysteriously” put one of the cards on his desk each hour throughout the workday. For the first seven cards I didn’t sign them, so there was an air of mystery about who the cards were coming from. The last card revealed that they were all from me and gave him directions as to where to meet me for dinner that night.

Even though this wasn’t the most elaborate or expensive Valentine’s Day surprises, he really loved it because he knew it had taken me a long time to make the cards and make arrangements for them to be delivered to him. I think that creativity and giving something that you’ve crafted with your own hands are some of the best ways to show your sweetheart that you absolutely love and care for them. My husband still has all the Valentine’s I sent him that day, even though it’s been almost five years now.
