A Closed Distance

Me and my boyfriend have been in a long distance relationship. Before that, we lived right across the street from me and we'd see him every day at school over his house or mine, or anywhere else. We were best friends for awhile before we started dating.

So entering a long distance relationship was very hard. Your used to seeing that person everyday.

We'll we talked on the phone every night. One night, he brought up Valentines Day. I told him that I didn't like the holiday. Which I really don't because I've never had a boyfriend on that day. He told me that he'd still send me something in the mail. I insisted that he didn't, but he said he would.

Valentines Day arrived. I had school that day. I hated all the balloons people got from their boyfriend or girlfriend, the chocolates, the presents, everything. I just wanted my boyfriend with me right then. I didn't want the balloons or the presents. I just wanted to see him again.

The day goes by slowly. In my 7th period, I sit next to a window that is in the front of the school. I look to see if one of my best friends, Kyle, is there at the end of the day. When I see his car, I know that I'm getting a ride home from him. I see his car pull up and park, waiting for the bell to ring so that I can meet him.

The bell rings and I walk to his car sluggishly. I'm looking down, still bummed about the stupid holiday. But, when I looked at up from the ground and looked next to Kyle's car, I saw my boyfriend right there waiting for me.

I couldn't believe it. At first I really thought I had gone crazy. But I didn't. He was really right in front of me! I ran to him and hugged him. I gave him a million kisses because I wanted to make sure I was really hugging and kissing him. Since we were still at school, some student were walking past us. Some stopped and clapped at us or just stared and smiled. It was somewhat embarrassing, but I was so happy.

We finally got into Kyle's car and he asked me, "Are you ready for a great day, baby?"
And I just smiled because I thought to myself "I'll like Valentines Day, just for this year."
