The history of Valentine's Day is debatable - some say that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity, and died on February 14th. Others say that St. Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius, and was jailed for defying him.
Whatever the story, it has developed into a day in which lovers express their feelings and exchanging romantic gifts.
Some like to celebrate at home alone with a extravagant evening of pampering, while others venture out to a romantic restaurant. Some guys lavish their girl with flowers, while many women like to pick out the perfect sentimental card for their man.
