Is it more masculine for a man to own/drive a pickup truck vs a car?

So ladies, do you or have you ever factored in the type of vehicle a man drives before you decide to date him or is it just simply not important to you? Do you think it's more manly for a man to own/drive a pickup truck vs a car? If so, does make and model matter too? Have just always been curious about this. I have owned both cars and trucks and currently drive an F-150 and in my opinion it just feels manlier driving a truck and plus they just come in handy. I do construction for a living so I kinda require one, but even if that wasn't the case i'd still choose a pickup over a car.

  • How would one compare 'manliness' with horsepower whilst he only needs to press a pedal to make some noise?

The only status symbol you acquire with a having car is whether you have money or not. But truth be told. It does depend what you are looking for.

If you are looking for a serious relationship and kids in the future, choose something that has family space.

If you are looking for a serious relationship and don't want any kids, pickup or sports car might be preferable.

If you are just looking for ons and adventure, sports car

If you are looking for adventure and wild chicks - motorcycle
    - racing type: adventure
    - chopper: if you want a rocker girl

Well - that pretty much sums it up. But still, it's just a pedal linked to an engine that is anywhere between 800ccm and 5000ccm depending on what you feel comfortable with.

Though I'm very sure, you can mix up all of the above as woman are as different in taste as man.

And yes - if your Job depends on it.. be practical - but don't be afraid if you meet up with that tall blonde construction worker type woman with a broad should trying to get your attention next time you are in the local pub.

  • I'm going to break my own rule and answer an anon. Mainly because I don't detect any sexual trolling in his question.
I just bought a Toyota, badass, FJ cruiser. I love it.
Please be careful with your little tiny, unmasculine 150.
I accidently ran one over just yesterday.

Please just kidding, just joking. I love trucks and guys are freaking out over my FJ.

    XDD

Why oh why do obviously nice guys like you hide behind that stupid anon?

  • Pick up trucks are sexy, and I see them as manly, I see a pick up truck and see "hard worker, and strong, and reliable"

  • Um. So I think pickup trucks are totally hot, and yeah I think they make you look manlier. It makes me think, "Man this guy is reliable and independent, but also likes to have fun." hahah just being honest. And nah I don't think model and make matter... unless it's like an el camino if that's even considered a pickup. Those are ugly.

  • It depends on your job, where you live, where you're going and at what time.

  • If i see a guy driving truck, the first thing that would come to my mind is he works in construction and I would not prefer to be picked up by a truck D: I dont think its manly also..

  • Pickup trucks are only used for specific purposes, whereas a car is general purpose. If would seem really awkward for a man to drive a pickup truck if he has no practical use for it.

I have driven only cars and motorbikes, never even considered driving a truck.

    • Hmm never thought of it like that before

  • d00d it really doesn't matter hahaa, but some places where pick up trucks are the thing, you might as well go with that if you wanna fit in.

  • I'd say a pickup truck especially here in the south. Though ultimately girls don't seem to care. A car is a car. Just so long it's not dirty and nasty inside.
